Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomUnfortunately the room we had was adjoined to another by way of the thinnest door ever. This wasn't noticeable however until the people next door decided to wake up at 6am on the Sunday morning and be excessively loud - talking at the top of their voices and banging doors etc. This meant we had disturbed sleep on what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend away. Highly recommend that you check for an adjoining door and decline the room - I will definitely check if we stay again
We have stayed here before a long time ago and they have made lots of positive improvements. The lobby area is great - lots of places to sit and spacious. Our room was good, upgraded to king room and the bed was huge with a view of the Strand.

United StatesThe loophole with booking.com and the free transport to the hotel made it impossible to use, so I won't use booking.com again. You have a window to pre-book transport or lose it. On the other hand, not knowing if the flight will be on time or if customs will hold you up can affect the window you pre-booked for transport to still be there because they only have a short window to wait before canceling on you too. The hotel charged an additional 25 pounds upon check-in arrival, but I don't recall what for. There was a very rude maid that I reported, however, the hotel did address it swiftly and made it right. Both the restaurant and bar need more trained staff. One night, the hostess confirmed I would get a 20% discount as a guest on my meal that night before seating me. When the check came, I asked where the discount was and was told it was only for a specific day. All of a sudden, out of three staff members, including the manager, no one could find or even knew who seated me to address the discrepancy. I was met with apologies but I would not eat there again if I returned due to slow services to their tables.
The porters/door service men were phenominal. You are greated with courtesy, willingness to provide service each coming and going. Location, location, location..it is a prime spot to be in to visit London.
