The bedroom walls were rather thin and we could hear the people next door talking, although not well enough to hear what they were saying.

The room was lovely, bed comfortable. Communal areas were very pleasant as well. Gardens looked worth a walk in, but it was raining during our stay. Most people staying were 'of a certain age' which suited us.

Booking.com You advised you had upgraded me to a Superior King Room but there is no such thing, we had a Superior Double so a smaller bed. Please note they do not offer a Superior King as you offered/advertised (see their website) and they will be taking that up with you directly

Bit disappointed this visit. The bed was rather hard so neither of us slept well on both nights of our stay. Also nowadays usually king size beds rather than doubles in a lot of hotels. TV could do with being on the wall so the dresser could be used to sit at and do hair and make up with a stand alone mirror as nowhere to sit to do this. I could also hear the guest in the room above snoring all night ! Not your fault but my goodness it was loud never heard this ever before when staying in hotels !

I forgot to book a ground floor room but was able to obtain one. No.26. The staff were very helpful with this. Lovely building and so well maintained. Bathroom excellent huge bath and wet room. Breakfast was excellent as were the staff. The 3rd time we've stayed here.

Some of the furniture needs replacing abit of tlc needed and nail head in carpet right-side of bed right where you stand to get in .... Wonky table ornament fell off (reported to reception) Terrible loo roll No biscuits in room 2 sinks but only 1 tap worked ( reported to reception)

There is no lift and the staircase is not easy to navigate. The bathroom is dated and the shower is low pressure.

As previous comment room didn’t have a fridge or safe. Otherwise -good and comfortable. Booked online therefore didn’t know our deluxe room was outside the main building. Therefore had to walk out in the cold to use the amenities

Cooked breakfast - good. Buffet table missing items which you would normally find in a hotel of that standard ie fresh fruit, continental meats, bread rolls and cheese. Dinner - ok

The bathroom was nice, but the shower over the bath was a bit tricky to use. The roll-top bath on legs was quite high, which coupled with the glass shower screen made it difficult for those with impaired mobility to get to the shower. There was no anti slip surface or shower mat, and nothing to hold on to, so showering was a bit risky. The shower screen seemed ineffective at points. Instructions on use of the air conditioning would have been useful. The bathrobes could have been more generous.

Very nice greeting on arrival. Was shown to our room and our luggage was carried there for us, which is rare these days. The room was lovely with a view of the lake. A massive bed.that was comfortable. Very quiet most of the time. A really good breakfast, plenty of choice. Evening meals were good, but a couple of less fancy options would have been nice. Lovely grounds. Would stay again.

Spectular old building to stay in. Friendly and helpful staff. Great spa facilities and a yummy full english breakfast. Bed was very very comfortable.

No slippers provided as promised. If no slippers in spa area then outside dirt will come in on guests feet. No hairdryer in mens changing in spa. went two days running - not properly cleaned. no lockers available in ladies changing room "saved for spa guests". So what about the hotel guests? Restaurant staff very smiley and friendly, but service slow. Not their fault, the kitchen was obviously not as speedy as could be. And the food was not up to standard or previous visits.

Hot tub could have been hotter. Staff at supper were absent - it was 20 minutes before they came to offer water/drinks and we had to ask for our mains to be cleared and for the pudding menu - after another 20 minute wait. We actually thought it was laughable
