When I was booking a room, I took into account the fact that the hotel provides room service. We clarified this fact at the check-in and it was confirmed to us. However, when in the morning we asked for this service in the form of a morning French breakfast on our balcony with the sea view, we were refused. On this occasion, we were told that they did not have this service. Disappointed that the service advertised on booking.com is not provided and this is already a deception. When we were paying we were charged an additional amount of more than 37 euros as tax. However, when we checked our bill from booking.com, we found that the amount was much less and included in the payment. The next day we were informed that we had been charged for breakfast in the hotel restaurant, which we had not requested. The amount was refunded.

We arrived in Arcachon on a sunny day so that my daughter could prepare for a course exam at the University of Bordeaux. The choice of hotel was because it is on the coast and has a great view from the room. The small balcony allows you to admire both the beautiful sunset and the seafront. But you should note that this view is only available for the upper floors. On the ground floor, there is a large terrace, but the sea view is impossible because of the roof of the neighboring building. Another thing to consider is the possible presence of drunk and shouting people on the coast at night, because of which we had to close the balcony door. Pleasantly surprised that this hotel has existed since 1860 and this gives it a special charm. The room was very comfortable, clean, typically French with minimal space.

Altogether a great stay. What would make our next stay perfect? Ironing facilities in the room, a fridge to cool water and an AC unit that would turn down - it was fixed at 24 degrees.

Staff were really, really good. Knowledgeable and friendly. Rooms with sea views and balconies - just great. Very clean and modern rooms.

Some fixtures in the bathroom (door, shower holder) needed mending. The Aircon temperature control was limited.

Location very central for beach and restaurants, about 15 mins walk from station. Breakfast which looked expensive at €17 was actually very good value with quantity and choice. The bed was large and comfortable for a good night's sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful

There is a stage opposite which hosted a live music band until almost midnight. We enjoyed the music but it may bother other guests. Earplugs are provided!

Parking was closed due to street paving. We had to park about 150m away on a residential street.

The location was right on the beach and promenade as well as the wharf for ferries to Cap Ferret. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating.

The wifi went from very slow to non-existant, despite many discussion with staff.

The property is very well located, close to the beach and the tour boats, a nice square, boutiques and restaurants. The reception area is nice, and the rooms very comfortable.

Great view overlooking the beach and the sea with a balcony. Good size bathroom, shower worked well Hotel loaned towels for the beach, kept our luggage for us on check out day, kept a bottle of wine in the fridge for us and uncorked it too.
