This cottage is a little gem! Set back a little from the seafront, a minute walk from the ferry. The décor is adorable, seaside tones of blue and white. The cottage was very well appointed, with everything you might need for your stay. Ann & Brendan thoughtfully provided a welcome basket, and it's such a lovely touch. The cottage has a cosy, warm feeling, and my husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. I would absolutely recommend Ropewalk Cottage to any couple visiting Portaferry.

I booked my parents in here for an early birthday present for my mum. They were both overjoyed with their trip there. The location was perfect. The cottage itself was beautiful inside and out and so cosy and comfortable.

The location, and the welcome made me feel right at home. Quiet and secure parking for my motorcycle which is a priority to any motorcycle owners. And the facilities are exceptional, perfect if you want to cater for yourself, everything you could need is supplied.

That we didn't book for longer!!!!!!!

This place is just so beautiful. Ann is just so lovely, came down and talked to us and gave us recommendations on some nice pubs and places to eat. The place itself was just beautiful. The garden is just amazing, the weather was on our side and we sat outside and had a drink and it was just so peaceful. Inside is just so cute and very nicely done, with all the wee extras like a welcome basket with soda farls and crisps and orange juice in the fridge. It was my husbands birthday so Ann left a bottle of wine and some beer in the fridge too which was just so nice. The aquarium is literally across the road and I would definitely recommend it was very good. The location is so good too!!!

Beautifully laid out accommodation with everything you need. Gorgeous comfortable bed. Lovely toiletries. Perfectly clean. 3 minutes walk from the waterfront in Portaferry. Ann and Brendan are wonderful hosts.

The Ropewalk Cottage was an amazing little gem of a find located in the beautiful coastal town of Portaferry. The hosts Brendan and Ann were so welcoming and perfect hosts that put us at ease from the moment we arrived. The complementary snacks and homemade butter was a nice touch that helped elevate this sweet, beautiful getaway cottage into one of our favourite stays. It is perfect for couples that want to explore the small coastal town of Portaferry and experience a quiet and quaint atmosphere. I will definitely be back

Nothing to dislike

Lovely cosy cottage with all you could want and more. The hosts, Ann and Brendan, were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The welcome basket was a nice touch and very generous. A beautiful garden area with comfy bench and chairs surrounded by flowers and plants. The owners obviously take great pride in their newly built cottage and garden.

This was a perfect getaway set in a beautiful location with fantastic hosts. The attention to detail was impeccable. The welcome pack was an added bonus full of essentials and treats. The information pack contained details of local walks, restaurants, local attractions and ferry times. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed at Ropewalk Cottage for 3 nights. The location was great. It was beautiful, spotless and comfortable. There was a welcome basket on arrival. The owners Brendan and Ann could not have been more helpful. They were an absolute delight. We will definitely be back. 10 out of 10 .

Beautiful and cosy, we had a lovely time visiting Portaferry. Wish we could have stayed longer as the cottage felt very homely and relaxing!
