  • The Portaferry Hotel Review score: 9

“The hotel is located right on the seafront and my room even had a view over the lough and to the ferry. There are seats outside and you can sit and watch the world go by. Food in the hotel was very good quality both for the evening meal and the breakfast.”

  • Barr Hall Barns Review score: 8

“To begin with, this location is pet-friendly. Situated at the base of the Ards Peninsula, it offers a delightful setting with numerous National Trust sites within easy walking distance. For those interested, Mount Stewart and Castle Ward (popular among "Game of Thrones" fans) are a bit further away. Ideal for birdwatching enthusiasts and nature lovers, it's perfect for strolling along the shoreline. The accommodation consists of three units at the location; the apartment, where we stayed, is comfortable and spread across two floors, featuring a bathroom and bedroom on the first floor and an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area on the ground floor. For those keen on cooking, there's an electric range, microwave, toaster, kettle, and ample cutlery and crockery available. Barr Hall Barns offer additional amenities such as laundry facilities, a communal garden, and complimentary WiFi/internet access.”
