No night porter or any responsible person sited at the hotel. If there’s a problem the nearest help is the sister hotel about a mile away.

The breakfast was perfect for us. It was described as continental breakfast. There was an excellent bowl of fresh fruit, choice of cereals, yoghurts, pastries, cheeses, meats and bread for toast. Plenty of choice. The hotel is about a mile from the city. There’s nothing else around and is just perfect if you like peace and quiet. There’s plenty of places to eat in the city centre but no restaurant at the hotel itself.

The stay was perfect. Beautiful rooms and facilities. Incredibly scenic location and grounds. Staff are incredible. Food is phenomenal. Nothing at all to dislike, it is beautiful.

I couldn’t fault this stay.

The breakfast was perfect. A massive bowl of fresh fruit for me, with some non dairy yoghurt. I also ate at their hotel for dinner on both nights…the food was delicious and the staff were efficient, but also kind and generous with their conversation. I had a luxurious bath on one evening, looking out to the green natural surrounds. I could have stayed longer.

The ceiling was a little low in the room we got since it was a loft room. It was a little far away from everything.

When we booked we weren't aware that there would be a room above our bedroom. Fortunately there were no other guests staying while we were there so there was no noise from above at night.

Our room was spacious and quiet. It felt luxurious to be there - a real treat. The bathroom was lovely with a great shower and deep bath. Our room was spotless and the staff were lovely. Continental breakfast was fantastic - no need at all for a cooked option.

This place is gorgeous. The building, gardens, art decoration, room and bathroom amenities, and staff attention were outstanding. The continental breakfast is served on location and was superb. We could not dream of a better place to stay and relax in West Wales.

We absolutely loved our weekend away at Penrhiw. Before getting there we didn't know what to expect and felt a little apprehensive that there were no staff at the property 24/7. Check in is at the main hotel, Penrhiw is hidden away in the centre of St Davids. However, the whole process was very smooth and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location, the room, the atmosphere everything was amazing. We stayed in Garden room which was very spacious, the beds were so comfy and the bathroom was very clean. The room was kitted out with everything you need and even had pretty decent coffee with a mini coffee machine. We went for the full experience and had both the continental breakfast and the upgraded breakfast the next day. Although both were good, I probably won't recommend upgrading for a cooked breakfast. The continental breakfast (included in the booking) at Penrhiw itself is so lovely. If you do upgrade to the cooked breakfast you need to drive back to the main hotel where you check in. The food is good but probably not worth the extra hassle. Overall we recommend this place to any couple wanting to treat themselves with a quiet getaway and would be happy to go and do it all over again.

The WiFi was poor in our room, but that was a small issue really.

We loved our stay here in this beautiful hotel. Our room was comfortable and clean with great facilities. Room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was fresh, delicious and plentiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in/check out was easy and quick. The chocolate and lovespoon gifts in the room for Valentine's day was a lovely touch.

A lovely building located in a countryside setting, yet close to St David’s. Our room ‘Treetops’ was spacious and beautifully appointed. Staff were all very friendly. A lovely stay and would highly recommend.

Great staff. The sister hotel rang us during our stay to check everything was ok. Apologies for not returning the call. Our room was superb. Spacious comfortable high end. Breakfast was a continental one. Lots of choice and if if you want a cooked breakfast this is supplied at the sister hotel a five minute drive away. An honesty bar is a nice touch. Also a 10 minute walk into St David’s and the property has a great garden for a stroll around.

Staff were not on site after 2pm each day. So when the toilet roll hadn’t been replaced, and you discover this at 10.30pm, there is nothing can be done till 8.00am the following day.
