Avoid breakfast and walk across the bridge to Robinson's; great food, lovely staff and atmosphere with great choices. Bed was uncomfortable for me;

Better price than most whilst being walking distance to everything. Parking reasonable, safe, accessible (bonus being you check out at 11 but you can leave you car in the car park until midnight). Felt safe and secure, largely quiet up on 4th floor overlooking the river/city car park. Nothing to complain about really - it's a place to sleep and shower.

My only gripe would be the price of the onsite parking very expensive and advertised price was not correct when paying at reception, and the onsite swimming pool has been closed for over a year.

Breakfast was excellent, with a lot of choice on the buffet, staff couldn’t do enough. Very friendly.

Room carpet looked like it was ready for an update, with some obvious staining. Hotel is completely cashless...so be prepared for that.

Big, spacious room with clever storage, nice lighting and good shower. Really nice lobby area to relax and have a drink. Great location, only a short walk into the centre of York.

The room needs better instructions on how to use the coffee maker. Also instructions on how to order room service need to be clear. Also better communication between staff, we were initially told that we would be able to check out at 12pm noon as we had become members, but then later when we actually checked in we were told it was 11am. Luckily the other staff member was on hand to explain that we were members so it was now 12pm.

Nice big room, beautiful shower, great view from the window. Nice reception area.

We did not have breakfast as we thought it was rather expensive at £18 per person, so we went out. We also thought the car parking expensive at £16 per day. Unfortunately the advertised swimming pool was closed for refurbishment, but the hotel did inform us of this in advance.

We liked the central location with views over the River Foss and a pleasant riverside walk into town. Car parking on site although a bit expensive. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the reception and bar area welcoming and cheery.

The staff are pleasant professional and helpful. Pet friendly but large enough public areas so as not to intrude on impose on others who may not like dogs. Located next to the river so great for walking into the town or for dog walking ( lit on an evening)

Unfortunaltely the air conditioning / heating was noisy and on all night. It was very cold outside, -6 a some points but it did disturb our sleep somewhat.

The room was very nice, every thing required for a short stay. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and the location was brilliant within a short walk to the city centre.

TV didn't work which was frustrating as we was looking forward to watching a film. Told staff but they didn't know how to work any of the apps or casting. Breakfast was expensive so decided against it.

Our room had separate toilet and separate bathroom, which when needing to wash your hands after visiting the toilet it means contacting two door handle before being able to wash your hands. Poor design and mould on mastic was in need of replacing. Not really 4 star in my opinion. I have stayed here several times before and never experienced this room type before.

The smell of the drains in room 216. When you opened the tap to the basin, the drain smelt bad.

That I could park my car securely before and after check-in included in the parking fee, means I didn't have to pay additional parking in York. Breakfast was delicious. Bed was comfy.
