From the second we arrived we were very happy We were met by the loveliest lady and owner Claire, before even seeing our room we were already very happy just from the friendliest and loveliest welcome. The room was lovely and felt homely. The bed was the best bed weve ever stayed in, to the point my partner even checked the bedding labels so we can get our own! 😂 All staff couldnt do enough and we loved that it was a close knit team who clearly cared about their guests. Thank you all so much x

This hotel is in a fantastic location and has is beautifully decorated throughout. My room was a very good size with a beautiful bay window. All the staff were really friendly and took time to talk to me about my visit. The breakfast was fantastic! A good choice and cooked to perfection. Thank you Shelly and all the staff, I will definitely return soon.

The room was a little cold when we got there around 10.30. The shower was quite weak but not a major problem.

The room was clean and comfortable. It was a good size and the shower/toilet was clean and modern. The bed was comfortable and big. There was a little sofa and plenty of space. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We would stay again.

It’s suits us perfectly, as we prefer to be away from the town centre, but it’s only a short walk into the town . Always very clean & tidy , Breakfast is always great . Staff go out off there way always to make you feel very comfortable. We will definitely BACK 😀

The room was generally very clean but could maybe have been a little cleaner in places. We tried to use the iron but it wasn't really useable. Understand this probably isn't a problem most people have so maybe have one decent iron that can be got from reception?

Really good tasty breakfast. Friendly and welcoming staff made the stay easy. The location is not far from the train station or town centre. Overall a good place to spend the weekend.

This is a little gem of a place. The staff are wonderful, breakfast is fantastic. The beds are so comfy. Decorated to a high standard and spotless throughout. We are always met with a warm welcome. Stayed a few times now and I'm sure we will in the future. It's in a great location, just a walk away from the beach and the other way the shops.

We had an all day breakfast when we arrived which was very good, the staff were excellent. The room was a lot bigger than we imagined and very clean and tidy also in a very good position not far to walk to the sea front, we will definitely visit the property again.

The second day we were ignored at breakfast and had to go to the counter and request items no menu was given, just as well I repeated what I could remember the first day my friend just had toast and museli. They should had checked who had paid for breakfast in advance as when we left, the lady came out calling we did not have breakfast included that explained being ignored but really that behaviour is not acceptable either, it was embarrassing, we went back in and had to wait around to prove we were not thieves, what a shame as everything else was wonderful.

We were upgraded because the main hotel seemed closed apart from the cafe. It was very clean smart and up-to date. The first day breakfast was great all set out and very tasty .

Unfortunately, we can not write a review of the Rowntree Lodge as we were upgraded to Derwent Apartment. Derwent Apartments was Fantastic very relaxing quiet, and clean, lovely fireplace, shower and beautiful bedrooms, we loved every minute and we will recommend you to family and friends 5*.

This was our second visit to Rowntree. Staff were really accommodating. We didn't arrive until late but they ensured we had all the information we needed to access the accomodation i.e. key lock code, etc.
