Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomThe room smelt very strongly of damp, window had been left open but was unpleasant. And lingered all night. It’s a basic room and rate felt high for a Wednesday evening with no extras eg breakfast included. To walk to the Servuce’s I had no choice but to walk across busy roads with no path.
Facilities and parking were great. Didn’t use it but bar serving food was handy.

United KingdomThe plates breakfast was served on were extremely cold, which made the breakfast cold in a few minutes. The first breakfast that arrived was lukewarm and I had to send back to be reheated, resolved quickly, this is less of a problem when there are more than 10 guests having breakfast and the buffet is out. Warming plates is an easy win if are looking to improve.
This is the first hotel I have ever stayed in where I haven't needed to take an antihistamine for my dust allergy. Though the hotel itself is a little dated in furniture and style what you may not see is how fantastic a job the cleaners do. I am so picky I ran a wet wipe all over the surfaces, bed frame etc, everything, and when I looked after it was still clean! The staff are also really friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location was great for me as I was working nearby, so it's more of a commuter hotel than a destination. Starbucks, KFC, Waitrose etc all opposite which was really convenient.
