The single bed was set up with gap in mattress at shoulder height. Only 2 cups in a 3-person room, single side had no accessable mirror. No snacks or quick cheaper meals available on menu. Otherwise very comfortable and well-appointed hotel.

No lift our room was up 2 flights of stairs, continental breakfast was very average. Intreging that the hot water was plumbed to the toilet system and the cold side of the flik mixer.

Nice clean room and hotel in a good location with good hot shower.

Room was in the attic. Fortunately we are short because the ceiling was slanted. Restaurant menu was a bit limited. If you wanted more than a continental breakfast you had to pay extra. Room not serviced during 2 night stay

Clean room and bathroom. Good location with good parking and easy access to bus route. Walking distance to Matlock and Matlock Bath.

Unfortunately the hotel had no hot water, however to the owners credit they had called us in plenty of time to offer a full refund, as we were just using it as an overnight stop en route to other locations we were happy to manage. It was a shame because the rooms and in particular the shower was very nice, clean and nicely decorated with good facilities.

Great location 15 minute walk either way to Matlock or Matlock Bath

The breakfast that was included was very basic, croissants, cereal. They wanted to charge an extra £14 for a cooked breakfast. Also the rooms are not cleaned during the stay.

The hotel staff were friendly and there were some nice walks and things to do within reach of the hotel. It was also not far from restaurants, takeaways, supermarkets and other facilities.

The included Continental breakfast was lacking, we booked our time slot (during check in) there was limited choices (no meats or cheeses etc) and given the one member of staff took a while to bring out more bread and yogurts. That said the coffee and juices available were nice and plentyful.

The hotel was very nice, clean and the staff were very welcoming.

Booked with breakfast included. Told it was only continental breakfast included when we arrived. Could have a full English for £14.95 (!!!) extra. Dirty towel hanging up in the bathroom. No wardrobes. Very limited storage for clothes. Didn't like him taking my card details 'in case other things needed to be paid for'. I'd have made more of it all if we were staying more than 1 night.

Easy to find. Lovely looking hotel. Comfortable bed and friendly staff.... even if they didn't know what floor our room was on.

Breakfast we found expensive for what it was, and also we weren’t offered a choice, we were just given a full English, even though there’s a menu staying eggs Benedict etc, Cheap sausage and hard eggs weren’t great.

    No significant issues.

The hotel is very good for walkers, tourists and groups. There is plenty of parking, the staff are pleasant. The historic building has been refurbished in recent years and is generally very clean and in good condition, bar the odd minor issue. The continental breakfast is pleasant and sufficient. It is good that a bar and restaurant are available on site, but not too far to the establishments at Matlock Bath and Matlock, where we ate out. It was possible to walk in the countryside from the hotel on both days of the weekend without using the car and we all had a great time, thanks! There are a variety of rooms at fair prices and it was easy for a group of 11 to stay together using their own individual bookings, as not that many places near the Peaks could offer this.
