Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNot really the fault of the hotel but the lift wasn’t working. As it was the bank holiday it could not be fixed until we were going. I use a walking stick and there wasn’t a ground floor room available. They kindly took our luggage up and gave us free breakfast!
Very helpful staff.

The rooms were very nice, and the breakfast was exceptional. The staff made it clear that we were to relax, and enjoy as much as we wanted, and to take as long as we liked. The whole stay was made very relaxing, and enjoyable due to the great staff.

United KingdomThe heating in our room didn't work. Staff member came to fix it but couldn't. Organised us an electric oil heater and said maintenance man would come next day and fix. We had to obtain a second heater as one was not enough. We stayed for 3 days without the heating being fixed. Maintenance man did not repair.
Reception and bar staff, not very friendly. All other staff, cleaning ladies and staff in breakfast room friendly

United KingdomSome information on our gorgeous room! We did not have instructions on how to use the safe or the heating system. The bedroom was cold but the bathroom was freezing . We presume you only have basic tv - no channels about the hotel and Oxford? It was by guess work we could call down to Reception (0pressed 0 on the quaint phone - to ask for a menu as we wanted supper in our lovely honeymoon suite (celebrating husband’s birthday) - the guy on Reception said he would send a menu up … we are still waiting for it ….. lucky we had a hearty breakfast - so that was a disappointment. We did mention these issues when checking out but got little response..
The breakfast was amazing ! The hotel decor is superb! The two ladies at the bar on Saturday and Wendy serving breakfast on Sunday are treasures.

United KingdomA gym, pool and sauna would have been perfection! Or even just one of the three!
1. The room exceeding our expectations in terms of go girt, size and quirky interior design. 2. The atmosphere snd interior design in communal areas was also quirky and of very high standard 3. The garden are beautifully planted snd tended, I got scream sense of peace and well ring. I wish I had had more time to read under the front garden exterior loggia, it was a pleasure to meet and chat to Alan, the gardener 4. The staff were consistently friendly snd helpful, I didn't get the sense that rules got in the way at all (' on our check out day, we were told 'you can park for as long as you want' 5. Iffley is a quaint Cotswold village with fantastic access to river and Iffley lock. We walked into Oxford along the Isis. The whole regrettably short stay was memorable, thank you all.

Breakfast is amazing, location is brilliant because it is only a short walk to Donnington Bridge and the river to watch the rowing. Staff are very friendly, especially the lovely lady who manages the breakfast! It's also lovely to be able to bring the dog.

United KingdomAt night the resources are sparce, as Oxford is quiet earlier in the evening i'd expect more to be available from the hotel. No food was served past 8.30pm which was disappointing. Also we ordered hot chocolates later in the evening, instead off calling back to say they couldn't make it we waited 15 minutes to have sachets of hot chocolate powder brought to the room, it was very odd as they could have just made the hot chocolates for us as requested. Apart from this the hotel was great.
Really spacious room, great location to get into Oxford, very dog friendly and accommodating. The receptionist in the day was very kind, personable and helpful.

GuernseyWe booked a double room but when we arrived reception said we were in a “compact double”. I thought it was abit strange referring to it as “compact” but sure enough - it was VERY small! If I had known we were in a “compact” room I would have probably chose another as you could barely move in the bathroom. There was no mirror where they had a table and chair, it was all the way over by the door. Tricky for us ladies who want to do our make-up. There was no plug next to the kettle so you had to plug it in on the floor by the door - not particularly safe (it was either that or plug in on the table and take it around to the door where the tea/coffee making items were, it wasn’t practical. The size of the room should have been for a single in my opinion.
The grounds were beautiful and the location was good.
