Breakfast was prepared too far in advance which meant dry bacon, tasteless sausage - disappointing.

Spacious room with excellent view over grounds and River Tweed.

Almost no help with suitcases. Terrible noise coming from the walls in the room around midnight and before 7 in the morning. Complained in reception but nothing was done by maintenance to sort it out even after we pointed out where it came from. Door lock did not work. Jotel looked in general a bit shabby and unloved.

Location. Beautiful house in a superb setting

The water pressure for the shower was weak I would say it needs a booster. The evening meal although pleasant didn't knock our socks off, but the breakfast was superb.

The location was brilliant, the hotel was old but well maintained and a very pretty building.

our rooms were next door to us as requested, both had a lovely view of the garden and across to the abbey. They were large rooms and had a seating area in the window. It was very quiet and peaceful with beautiful grounds to walk in and lovely views of the river and abbey. We had breakfast on our first morning in the upstairs restaurant which was excellent and hot food cooked to order, we ate in the bistro downstairs on both nights of our stay which was also very good. All staff were very pleasant and polite, the receptionist provided us with a leaflet of walks to do in the area from the hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay and would go back. It is in need of some upgrading in parts and the old style décor won’t be everyone’s taste. The bar / evening meal room really needs an overhaul. Functional rather than stylish and did the good food ( with flair) no favours. The pleasant young bar / eve meal and breakfast staff were friendly but need more direction and be far more proactive in welcoming and checking everything is ok. Most meals - missing cutlery or forgotten items, having to attract attention etc. Comments to help rather than moan!

Lovely old style hotel in a scenic location. Very quiet and peaceful. Spacious room with comfy bed and lots of hot water. Short but good menu - obviously chef prepared and cooked food. Really enjoyed my meals. Dog friendly. Friendly helpful reception staff.

Restaurant service was a joke. Food was good but in evening asked for desert menu. Given it then waited and waited for my order to be taken. Ignored so gave up and settled my bill, Breakfast was the same - same wiater same attitude. Given breakfast menu and ignored. I was the only customer! Couple came in after me and order taken quickly - I was still ignored. After 15 minutes I got up and found waiter who reluctantly took my order. Wasnt worth the wait - overcooked and poached egg was rock hard. Wont be back.

Great location, friendly reception staff, An interesting place to stay.

Rather restricted gluten free menu. GF isn't hard to do, just needs a little planning. After all one doesn't have to be coeliac to eat gluten free dishes - everyone can eat GF dishes but those of us who need GF can't eat everyone else's choices. The cheese board would have been lovely with GF crackers rather than yet more toast. Nairns ones come in small individual packets so wouldn't go to waste and would be much appreciated by others as well as me! Use of more local, less generic products would enhance the experience no end - local jams/marmalade/honey/pickles for instance. This is intended as constructive comment rather than criticism.

Lovely location. Great lounges one with super log fire to sit by with a book in the driech weather. Lovely breakfasts, if rather slow.

Radiators as above. We felt the hotel needs to have money spent on some things and upgraded.

Food good. Both radiators in our room - 208 - not able to be heating. Only the bathroom towel rail heated
