Property looks tired from the outside (main building needs painted and gutters fixed) rooms and bathrooms are dated. Restaurant feels like a dining hall not a proper restaurant.

Lovely location. Great spacious room and bathroom. Lovely staff. Food was delicious.

Rooms need upgrading, felt quite damp and the carpets and curtains looked worn and stained. Pillows were also uncomfortable so we bought some. Buffet breakfast doesn’t work, very disorganised kept waiting for milk, butter etc a good while after our tea and toast was served. Moreover the choices were limited as staff weren’t available to replenish due to lack of staff. The poor staff that were on were lovely but racing around trying to keep up with demand.

Staff are friendly and accommodating, checkin is easy. Location is nice and out of the way of the busy town. Cleaning staff came in to check our room next day and were extremely friendly and once again accommodating. Pool facilities are really handy for families and is the main reason we are returning customers.

Just staffing numbers as this slowed down service.

Breakfast was good but lack of staff slowed service down. Room was fine, leaking toilet was a problem that wasn’t resolved Dinner was okay but menu was limited Staff were very pleasant but too few of them for the number of guests staying at the hotel.

Wouldn’t say was something we didn’t like, more of an observation, but the room was old fashioned and requires some TLC with decor etc, but was clean and had a comfortable bed. The pool changing rooms could require with some regular cleaning of floors etc with lots of people in and out of them.

Our Hotel stay was value for money. Was a spacious room for the 4 of us, 2x adults, 10&12yr old. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The restaurant food for evening meal was nice and the breakfast was always stocked up with plenty food.

The hotel is quite dated, and some areas need a bit of a refresh. The tv in our room had no signal. There were broken tiles in the bathroom. There were limited plug sockets that we could use due to the style of plug on lamps etc. The laisure facilities were good but the poolside toilet was in need of some attention. Overall a bit disappointed.

Good location, enjoyed the use of the pool, steam room and sauna, the beds were comfortable and staff friendly.

Bizarre plug socket layout in rooms. Why hotels haven't twigged that people charge their phone overnight on a bedside table is beyond me.

Big room, good breakfast, friendly staff and the whole hotel was very clean.

No internet room was next to an entrance lots of noise banging hot water pipe very noisy each time it was used. Breakfast was not great tea and coffee served after breakfast was half eaten. Selection not great and not very warm. One family removed all of the pastries. Overall disappointing as such a lively location.

Communication was quite bad, asked for a travel cot and rang twice and emailed to get confirmation it would be in the room and couldn’t get in touch with anyone (luckily it was there in the room)

We booked breakfast for ten, so arrived at restaurant and had to wait 15 mins, seemed to be not enough staff to clear tables and be in the kitchen, went up to the buffet to get breakfast and no food left, so had to go back to seat and wait at least 10 to 15 mins, no eggs ever appeared, food was being bring out in dribs and drabs. The food we did get was good quality but very disappointed in how it was managed, 22 pounds for 2 sausages and a bit of bacon, pretty extreme and didn't have time to wait for food to eventually come out

The hotel and room is stunning, beautiful location and staff lovely

For a pet friendly hotel, would be good to have pet paw wash facility round the back somewhere, to rinse down dog after a walk in the hotel grounds/ walk to Calderglen. Hotel room cleaning could attempt a revisit if room occupied, to restock towels tissues bathroom essentials and empty bins.

Pet friendly .. lovely staff.. excellent breakfast and afternoon tea. Spa and leisure facilities great.
