Unfortunately, our room overlooked the street, so it was extremely noisy.

Although we arrived before check-in time, we were made to feel welcome. The staff even extended a hot beverage to us in the breakfast area, which was much appreciated.

Small but adequate room. Not a problem for me but some may not care for sharing the bathroom, but it was thoroughly cleaned.

Best imaginable location. Totally medieval building with appropriate updates. Staff was superb--thank you Monica—and the view of the cathedral from my room was even better than the view from my room when I stayed within the Cathedral Close.

It was a pity that there was no shower. There was a bath - but a shower would have been better - especially in a bijou sized bathroom. The steep and narrow stairs are something to be considered if you have any mobility issues but, if you are looking for old world charm, the hotel has it in bucketloads.

The breakfast room was great as was the selection of freshly prepared offerings for breakfast. Great views from the rooms.

The best croissant at breakfast, wow. Lovely delivery to room was appreciated. The water available for guests is excellent. Water is so important for me. 5 stars! The room had a lovely view of the market area. It is an old building with nice views front and back, and the location cannot be beat. The shower was very good. Had no issues sharing the bathroom down the hall; if you go for that option, don't let it deter you. There are multiple that are split up between certain rooms. I did stay just one night so that was not a big deal for me at all. The hosts are very polite. The room had good kettle and coffee/tea supplies.

    Everything was perfect

This hotel is right in the middle of the pedestrianised area of the city. It's right beside the cathedral, and its entrance is on a beautiful square. So perfectly placed for a very historic stay. It was everything I had hoped from the description. Spotlessly clean and cosy room. The staff were so helpful. Especially Monica, who gave us loads of suggestions on things to do and places to go. Everyone was lovely. We had a tasty continental breakfast too by the window the next morning. The price was very reasonable for such a good location and being a Saturday night. The description does say with parking, but because of the location you park at a nearby public carpark. We parked at Queningate. Which is a very short walk away. The hotel then initiates a half-price discount on the parking cost. We stayed in a front bedroom. They are all named. You could hear some noise from the square, but it didn't disturb us at all. They even provide a water machine in the lobby so you can fill up a water bottle. I would definitely stay again.

    Nothing, truthfully

Qwerky family run hotel full of 15th-century charm and olde world eccentricities. Rooms were 'modern medieval' with sloping everything, original features, but with modern conveniences. Great bed, and the ensuite had a great shower. Very friendly and helpful staff offering great advice on things to do and places to eat. Nice, free, continent breakfast (or cooked for a reasonable price). Parking permit issued by the hotel saves money on 24-hour fee.

Hotel is quirky, we had quite a walk to our room, including going outside at one point. I think I would have expected the room to be a little cheaper.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean and bed comfy. Good breakfast. Right in the middle of the city, but our room was quiet.

A central location on a Saturday night means there is going to be some noise from outside but the hotel did provide ear plugs.

Room was way too hot. The continental breakfast was noted beforehand as Gluten Free options. Turned out it was just GF bread. The porridge and croissant were not substituted. There was only one portion of GF cornflakes.

Great location. We liked the quirky character of the building .

A small fridge in the room would have been nice? Nothing else.

Quirky, as you would expect for it's age and location. And location is, by far, it's biggest asset. The chap on reception when we arrived was exceptionally friendly and full of top tips of things to see and places to eat for our short stay. They all turned out to be top tips, so it saved on us taking pot luck and guessing. If you book expecting modern Hilton style rooms and facilities, you're going to be sorely disappointed. If you want a hotel room where you look out of your window at one of the worlds great cathedrals, literally metres away, this is the place.
