Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great location with free designated parking space. We were greeted by a lovely pleasant young lady, Sarah. Check-in was quick and simple and Sarah was very helpful and informative, even printing off a gluten free menu for the restaurant at the sister hotel. We had been upgraded(free) to a superior room with a view overlooking the river and bridge! The room was very large with extra king size very comfortable bed with bedside tables and power points each side, There was a desk/dressing table with mirror, and tea/coffee water and biscuits, plus a large armchair with coffee table by the huge window next to the river! There were 2 double wardrobes, with auto lights inside, plenty of hangars and a safe, plus full length mirror. The bathroom had full length bath with double shower over with plenty of hot water, and a heated towel rail, plus toiletries and shaver point. After unpacking, we went to the conservatory/ lounge for complimentary tea/coffee and scones(GF available). Our room was nice and warm and we slept very well. The full english cooked breakfast (GF available)(pre order night before) was very good with 2 eggs, and brought to the table. My wife (who is Ceoliac) spoke to the chef and the waitress who both had a full understanding of the specific needs of GF preparation! There was a good selection of continental breakfast plus juice tea/coffee self service. The whole place was spotless throughout. Its in an ideal location for touring/walking. The hotel was quiet and peaceful and we would highly recommend it!!

United KingdomThere wasn’t anything to dislike.
My sister and me received the best and warmest welcomes ever from Sarah at Bridge House. The location is spot on; the rooms were lovely with nice selection of teas, biscuits and coffee in room. They offer complimentary scones in the afternoon which were gorgeous and could even cater for gluten free which is great. We enjoyed this lovely hotel so much that we stayed an extra night. We needed to switch rooms to do so but the second room we stayed in was just as lovely. Would highly recommend and definitely would revisit. All the staff were very friendly and professional and the chef cooked a fantastic breakfast. We very much enjoyed the use of the pool at the sister hotel in the village

United KingdomI do wish there had been a liquid hand soap dispenser next to the sink. I understand not wanting to use those bars of soap ad they’re so wasteful, but a liquid hand soap from the same company who did the other toiletries would be good. I know they do them as Baldry’s had them in their bathrooms!
The staff at the hotel are really personable and lovely. We have stayed in other hotels in the area and Bridge House has the best staff so far. I enjoyed getting my breakfast brought on a plate rather than buffet style, but there’s still the usual continental on fare too. The room we had in the annexe was nicely decorated but a tad cozy. That did not bother us though as we were out of our room a lot.

United KingdomI really enjoyed how well maintained the hotel was. My wife and I felt well looked after by the staff, and were comfortable throughout. It gave us the comfort of a hotel with the personalised feel of a B&B with lots of thoughtful little touches to make us feel welcome. Thank you to the whole team, especially rhianne, ashley at the front of house, as well as to the chef who prepared a stunning breakfast for us!

United KingdomTurned out to be staying in the annex, which was still nice, but I think I would try to stay in maybe the main building next time.
Location was amazing, the staff went above and beyond and were generally incredible, the room had a bath, which I think is a good idea for a property that caters to many hikers/walkers, and the room was clean and comfortable, as was the bed. Oh, and the cream tea on arrival was such a great touch and made it more memorable and special. Also, the breakfast was great!
