Bed was not very comfy, could feel springs in mattress. Shower leaked from bottom of unit, and did not work as it should, the stop setting just left it running cold; it was usable, but switched it off at the wall switch as I didn't trust it.

Room was warm and comfy, large bed, spacious new shower room, location was great with view of main street and quiet at night.

Great place, fantastic location. I didn't give 10/10 because the pub was shut on the second day and night we stayed there, but the hosts were great, and the room very clean and comfy.

Limited dinner menu but can understand why - they are still building the business and refreshing the property and only have a couple of rooms available so far.

Room was great, very cosy, very clean. Bar was snug, staff were all super great - all of them.

1.Only cold water in basin. Small electric radiator in room. 2.Room not serviced 3. No cooked breakfast on offer despite all communications stating there was. Continental was served to bedroom. Croissant was dry & flabby. No plate given. Fresh fruit on second day was not edible. 4.Kettle set off heat detector due to position. 5.No response to communication concerning possible lost property since leaving Black Bull. 6.Limited unexciting menu despite promoting dining.

Location in nice little village close to Hexham.

As previously mentioned no milk for tea/coffee but very upset as we could not contact staff the next morning so had no breakfast. We tried to contact someone but no answer. We left a voice message a man called back and said he was no longer working at the pub but would pass our request on. Still waiting for this to happen but had to go to a nearby cafe for breakfast as one of our friends is diabetic so couldn't wait any longer. I did send an email after booking to specifically check on breakfast due to our friends needs and received an email to confirm this.

The rooms were really nice clean and comfortable. We requested an early check in but as the room was booked the previous night . I did ring a few days before and was advised we could have access to one of the rooms before we attended a wedding. However no milk given we noticed the next morning we had to contact staff to request this.

A cosy room, with a tight bathroom, even for one person, Shower was very variable in temperature.

Being a walker breakfast was too late, school bus's gone, village shops open one hour plus. It was not included in the top price anyway! Village shops had my custom earlier. Hot rail meant I could wash cloths. Location good.

Only slight reservation is the lack of a car park although I was lucky enough to nab a space on the side of the road right outside.

Fabulous room which is recently refurbished. Smelt lovely and everything was perfect. Comfy bed, quiet surroundings, beautiful breakfast hamper. I was particularly impressed with the very cheerful and helpful young lady who checked me in and was serving in the bar both evenings. She’s a credit to the business.

The bedding was dirty and creased. The duvet cover and pillowcases had not been ironed and when we removed the throw at the bottom of the bed there was a large stain that went through the duvet and base sheet onto the mattress.

Breakfast was not included. The location was perfect.

Yes the room was recently refurbished and to a very good standard. The pub was lovely and had the chef been in earlier we would have eaten there, but we had to leave for an event at 7pm.

We were walking the Pennine Way, The Black Bull is right on the route. We were greeted very warmly and shown to our room, which was excellent in all respects. Additional to the normal tea and coffee, guests are provided with a range of speciality teas and a small gift pack of local hand made soap and creams; a lovely touch.
