Dining room although roomy was in need of a spring clean ie tables were a bit sticky and carpet could use a freshen up,. I'm sure this is due to be done ready for summer influx and I know it's not long changed hands so sure its on the plan, it didn't spoil our enjoyment tho

Lovely big comfy bed, good size bathroom bedrooms clean and fresh. Hairdrier in room, fresh milk and water readily available. Ample and tasty breakfast and good evening entertainment with a lively quiz . Good menu and friendly staff

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like as such. The stairs leading to the room could do with freshening up as the area looks a bit tired. It was only recently taken over so the owners do have things to sort out, we made them aware of a couple of things and they had already attempted to sort one of them and we don’t doubt they will give their attention to any issue that comes their way.

Nicely situated with ease of access, staff very helpful and friendly. Great bed and all the little extras (chilled bottled water, biscuits) and lovely full English breakfast along with toast, cereal, fruit juice and tea/coffee. Will definitely visit again.

Accomadation areas a little tired but new owners are workunf hard to refresh.

The staff were really friendly and there was a nice atmosphere in the pub. The food was really good and although it's on a main road and we had a room at the front, we didn't notice any traffic noise, which surprised us.

Unfortunately breakfast did not quite come up to standard as I had to ask for things, i.e. spoon for cereals, bread for toast, butter. No marmalade but there was jam!

Locaation was excellent for my requirements Room was big, clean and tidy. Exceptionally large bed, so slept well.

Whilst it was a lovely cooked breakfast it would have been nice to also have for example a bit of fresh fruit available to go with the cereal even it was just a banana.

very friendly welcome and the staff were keen to make the stay enjoyable. Nice cooked breakfast made to order. My daughter is a vegetarian so they offered vegetarian options such as veggie sauages.

The room was spacious and very clean. One of the biggest and most comfortable beds that we have slept in. Also liked the fridge outside the room with bottles of milk and water inside that were replaced each day. We also liked the large TV in the room, always a treat when we go away to be able to stay in bed and watch some television.

Entrance to the guest bedrooms could be better. Bedroom windows could do with black out curtains because of the street lighting.

The bedroom is very clean, adequately equipped & a comfortable bed. The shower room is excellent. The breakfast was good & to order. We used the restaurant & the food was acceptable for us but basic pub food. We’ve stayed previously & would definitely stay again.

Having to check in over the bar whilst the lad behind the bar was (working hard) serving customers drinks. Having to wind your way through customers in the bar trying to get to the accommodation area carrying bags. There is coffee making facilities but there was no milk and then supplied in a small open top bottle that really needed refrigerating. Having our evening meal in the bar area, restaurant was in darkness, amongst the ready to play bingo players - wasn't conducive to a pleasant evening meal after a day's journey - we were eating they were ready to play bingo and finally the access to the accommodation from the restaurant isn't the most attractive route.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was a good standard and breakfast was very acceptable. The room was a good size and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was also clean. The Balfour Arms has a lot of potential for local people to enjoy home cooked food, music and other features but the operational side of the accommodation needs some attention.
