The bar food was awful and nothing like the menu we enjoyed on previous stays. What happened to the chef who prepared the most amazing risottos and stone baked pizzas? The food was OK as 'fuel' but otherwise very poor and tasteless. Service wasn't great either. Rooms are good but the whole place could do with a little TLC.

The staff are very friendly and the room we had was very clean and spacious, if a little tired in decor. The hotel's location was perfect for us and had free parking (although I gather that's about to change, which is a real shame). Nice outside space to enjoy a drink - and bar prices not too bad for a hotel, especially in Bristol!

Old and just basic, lots of stairs and smoke smell in one of the rooms. Thin walls - you could hear other guests and water pumps(?).

Bed was soft/comfortable. Parking was good.

the shower was quite difficult to figure out as it either went from boiling hot to freezing cold and i couldn’t figure out how to get it somewhere in between. i ended up just having a bath the following day which was fine :)

Room was tired and had broken fixtures - bed was huge and comfortable but pillows jolly hard. Marks on the walls, curtains were very hard to open and close with stiff pulleys. Quite a noisy hotel with lots of doors to open/close to find rooms - so you could hear lots of movement

Lots of background noise from the adjacent roomz. Creaking floor boards and heavy footsteps made sleeping quite difficult.

The location is great if you don’t want to pay city centre prices. We had an executive room which was huge. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean.

Route march up to room, which was very tired, and not as clean as we would have liked. No room service, and no food during day until 5pm, which spoilt our Saturday a bit, as we were being picked up for a party, and needed food early. Because of a wedding, no food till after 6pm! Had to go to Burger King, not good.

Bed comfortable, bar area was nice, and outside of building looked impressive at first glance.

The decor and bathroom were very outdated. The paint was scratched on the doors and the toilet flushing was really loud, so we could hear it from other rooms. The housekeeper tried to come into the room before we had checked out. I had an email saying I had cancelled my booking while still in the room in the morning.

The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. Good value for the price paid.

Thought we would get food in hotel on the Monday night, we went to the bar at 9.15 only to find the chef had gone home, which explains why we see a few workmen that must have been staying coming back with an Indian takeaway. Luckily, there was a KFC only a few mins away.

Large room, Breakfast was good if you went down early. If you go down a bit later, then the scrambled and fried eggs are not nice.

It was a really noisy stay, I could hear the floorboards creeking when people walked around the rooms next door it felt like someone was in my room at night. The plumbing was poor in my room, the toilet and sink were very slow to drain away.
