Windows were locked shut when we arrived and room was stuffy, but staff sorted that and temperature was just right.

It was quite a journey through the 1830’s property to a lovely bright room at the top. There is a lift but it would be worth mentioning any mobility probs as you book so they are able to allocate an easy access room

A grand gothic style Victorian hotel set just on the outskirts of the city centre, just a 7/10 min walk away. Refreshing not to stay in a bland brand hotel. Parts have recently been refurbished. We stayed in an older section of the hotel which was completely comfortable and clean. It was interesting to see how our tastes in hotel decor have changed over the years! We were welcomed warmly with a Bonio dog treat at reception. The charming manager helped us throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent, a good selection on a fresh buffet with delicious local Kent apple juice. All hot items cooked to order. We stayed in a large family room with our spaniel who was able to eat with us at the bar. Great price, great service & breakfast all with a comfortable Britishness. We will be returning in the near future.

Had to wait 10 mins to check out and eventually had to go and find a member of staff and the lovely young lady on reception was also manning the coffee bar in another room

It would have been helpful to have wifi instructions somewhere - perhaps on the folded paper card which holds the door key?

This Best Western was a great find. We were looking for a quiet room within walking distance of the center. Our room was large, the bed was very comfortable and our room, on the third floor and in the back, was very quiet. We had the added bonus of a tree view in the distance. This Best Western is newly redecorated and very stylish. The receptionist was warm and welcoming. We loved our stay!

The shower was the weakest I’d ever experienced. I had to rinse my hair in the sink as the shower was too weak to wash the shampoo out.

Understand that it may not be complete but could do with some background music in the breakfast room. Damp smell in the ground floor corridor - probably had a leak at sometime. Only pizza available from bar (although they do allow food delivery) personal view as I don't like pizza.

Room recently refurbished. Nice en-suite. Good TV. Short walk to hospital and town centre. Really nice breakfast. Good parking. Friendly staff. Interesting building, could do with some background history to be made available.

We knew that renovation and extension of the hotel was in progress when we booked. However it did take the edge off the stay.

Location close to city centre on several bus routes but also within manageable walking distance. Refurbished room in which we stayed was excellent

Could have been cleaner - a number of black hairs in the bath and around bath tiles. Not nice. Also I was offered a refurbished room for an extra £5. The hotel wasn’t full , that is the sort of thing the hotel should be offering complimentary to encourage people back.

Room 316 - bed was comfortable and jacuzzi bath was great. Also Nice to have shower that you can take off to wash hair separately.
