Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is just me being being a Brit who likes muesli for breakfast and the only cereal on offer were cornflakes. Not a huge problem as there were ample fresh croissants and bread for breakfast.
We've been here several times before and have always been welcomed warmly, particularly our dogs. It's such a dog friendly place. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Dinner was fabulous and reasonably priced, as was breakfast. The price of the room was very reasonable too.

FranceFor me, it seemed that the establishment was run as a family type place. It was lacking a bit of friendliness, I was surprised when 2 staff members came into the restaurant at breakfast, looked at us but no good morning or anything.
There was a problem with check-in, but they fixed it quickly. The rooms were comfortable, but I think that our room was above the kitchen as we had every smell from there. We got used to it after a while 😳. All in all, it was fine for the price we paid. The food in the restaurant for dinner was good, service was fine.

Location was fantastic. Views over the surrounding countryside and plenty of opportunities for dog walks etc

FranceThe hotel is looking a bit tired, particularly outside, where it looks like everything needs a good water blast. There were works happening in the reception, so I couldn't tell if it's always that chaotic, but the welcome was warm nevertheless.
Lovely location, a few kilometres from Dole town centre, up on a hill with gorgeous valley views. Plenty of parking. Good sized room with a work desk. We enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant in the evening. Nice staff and they were accommodating when I told them I had to work on the morning of our departure.

United KingdomMy wife fell off the chair when one of the rear legs fell off when she moved to get up. That was unfortunate but apart from soreness and bruising which lasted several days. To the credit of the manager/owner he was very concerned and sympathetic, which was appreciated.
The food was nice and the breakfast too.

United KingdomThe accommodation certainly didn't match the photos on booking.com, whilst pleasant enough the hotel looks like it needs a de-clutter and some renovation works. Which is a shame as it has huge potential and some lovely features if they were utilised.
Food in restaurant was lovely and restaurant staff very pleasant

United KingdomThe only downside of our stay (but you can't blame the hotel for it!) were mosquitoes and perhaps mosquiter will be an idea.
It was a great place to stay for a night, on the way to Nice. The facilities, staff, and room were very good. I specifically loved the location, a bit out but have such a "local" feeling that you can't help but feel part of it.

United StatesThis is NOT a situation unique to this place - as I have been posting, beds in France are much much much more narrow than ours in America. A typical bed is 3/4 of our Twin size. No joke. Even putting two beds together equals not much more than a double, and NOT even a Queen. These narrow beds are fine for people under 150 pounds, but if you are (as I am) much larger than that, you risk falling out of the narrow little beds. I turned over and fell right off. I just learned not to turn over.
It was beautiful and the surrounding countryside was beautiful. The on-premises restaurant was excellent. The staff were very understanding and considerate ( I lost my room card and we overslept and didn't get out of the room on time...) There was a beautiful church right up the street. The back porch (like you see in the picture) was a lovely place to get some fresh air and relax if you want to. The room was comfortable and clean. The shutters were electric and allowed us to have a quiet relaxing place to sleep.

United KingdomThe Harry Potter themed decor in the twin room was a bit overwhelming.
We only stayed one night on our way home from the south of France back to the UK. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. We ate in the restaurant and it was very good, if a little pricey. We had a family room, which consisted of a double bed, a twin room and a bathroom. It was big enough for what we needed.

United KingdomThe ability to "fence off" the balcony from neighbours would have made us feel more comfortable and secure. We put a balcony chair to separate our balcony from our neighbours. A little gate perhaps? I just dreaded a child or dog wandering into the room from the balcony.
Beautiful hotel. Quiet with wonderful views. Rooms spacious and with balcony. The salad we had at dinner was amazing and the special chips were outstanding.

United KingdomThere were no tea and coffee facilities in the room, but these were available with a microwave in the corridor. Check-out took longer than necessary (20mins) as had lost our booking details but staff were very nice and apologetic.
This place exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious with adjoining room for the kids with a fun Harry Potter theme. The food in the restaurant was excellent with a beautiful view. The pool was open til late and had a nice setting. Location was ideal. Nice touch to have a bottle of water and some sweets in the room. This place is a hidden gem.
