Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt was slightly out of the town centre compared to others. Not really a dislike and would not affect my choice ordinarily but after a long day walking and carrying an injury, the extra distance out and back again in the evening was a little frustrating. I guess the positive of this is more outside space.
I didn't arrive until a little later and went out with friends in the evening, so I didn't have time to make the most of what was available here. The bedrooms and showers were very good. The beds had the private curtain and a decent shelf to place and charge things overnight. Lots of outside areas for relaxing and socialising if you like.

GermanyPool hours are limited and charged extra, and breakfast options were very basic (pastries + jam - that's basically it).
The accomodation is quite modern, offers many amenities, a nice garden area, and a lot of social spaces!

Australia5 euro fee for the use of the swimming pool is a bit much and some people didn't pay but used it anyway. Not really fair for those who did. A better system for this is needed.

CanadaThe ladder to the top bunk are not very sturdy and indeed many people ended up moving this to a more secure footing.
Nice terrace, garden and pool make this an excellent place to relax in at the end of a long day walking the Camino.

United KingdomThere are lots of different rooms of different sizes but it's not clear when you book online what size room you are booking. I was put in a 6 bed room with three Italian men who were all friends. I thought this was a bit strange, especially as there were many empty beds in other dormitories.
It was a great location - on the edge of town with a big garden so you felt like you were in the countryside, but only a 5 minute walk to the town centre. It was 21 euros for one night. Breakfast was 4 euros extra which I didn't pay.

IrelandThe pool costs 5 euro that we paid at check in but you can definitely just go in they don't check who has paid. The room we stayed in was a 25 person dorm which as expected can be hard to sleep in. Check out is at 9am.
Lovely garden space with lounge chairs. Good location just at the edge of the town. Swimming pool, 2 kitchens, multiple bathrooms and showers. Plenty of common space. Would be good for a big group. Nice place to relax during the Camino. Froiz supermarket just across the road.

IrelandHostel was nice, not too far off of the camino route. The kitchen is well equipped for you to cook, had everything we could have wanted. Unfortunately we got rained on a lot on our walk, and there was not a lot of space for us to hang out the wet coats in the downstairs dorm room. For this hostel, I would recommend you bring your own sleeping bag or sheet liner, the linen provided included a fitted sheet and a sleeping bag of sorts that I was not comfortable using. I was glad to have my own sleeping bag with me. We didn't use the swimming pool, but it's good to know that the use of this costs extra.
