Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesSome of the rooms were under construction and I believe we got one of the old ones, which was small, not much lighting, and no body mirror. My biggest worry during this trip was the staff; most of them were friendly, but some were rude and pushy. I stayed with my 2 girlfriends and the waiters at the a la carte restaurants, pool entertainment staff, and the trolly drivers were constantly asking us to leave the resort with them and party. One night, a driver even asked us if he could come to our room with us. If it was once or twice in jokingly manners, we would have thought it was silly, but it was constant and they were making us uncomfortable. We did have a great stay overall, however, the staff need to be picked carefully and trained better.
It was very nice and convenient that we could use the Bavaro pool, Grand Punta Cana pool, AND the main pool at the beach. The trollies were very convenient in taking us to and from the beach especially since it was a bit of a walk from our room. There was a lot of entertainment. Live music every night at the lobby with long hours, sometimes karaoke, tropical night, and white night party at the beach was very entertaining. The rooms and the resort overall were very clean and well maintained. The food was amazing, lots of variety. There were culture nights at the buffet including, Spain night(paellas, seafood, etc), Mexican night (tacos, quesadillas, nachos, etc), Japanese night (sushi, yakitori, tataki, etc). The lobby front desk staff, bartenders, and housekeepers were very nice and friendly. The entertainment at the pool and beach area were very inclusive and varied.

United StatesThe communication with the hotel through the app can be improved. The room can benefit from some renovations especially the bathroom. The hours on the poolside bars close too early 6pm and extra hour could really make a difference.
The location is amazing, the pools the beach the gardens. All top notch. Service is always great every time i stay at a Punta Cana resort. The food was great.

PolandHeaps of mosquitoes right on 6:30pm mark (dusk), despite fumigations, nowhere to hide from them apart restaurants or hotel rooms. The last day I got really nasty food poisoning after visiting one of the a la carte restaurants. The staff was kind enough to extend our checkout until 3pm but good thing I brought my own antibiotics. Hotel rooms have atrocious sound proofing. Between every 2 rooms there's a pair of doors that are meant to connect 2 smaller apartments into a bigger one. This however causes every conversation (and other sounds) to be perfectly audible in another apartment. Entrance doors are forcefully slammed by everybody so the whole villa (and you in your bed) shakes. Sometimes hotel allowed vendors to line up the main "street" so when you were going for dinner you had to pass them and be "aggressively marketed".
Delicious food, great organization, very friendly staff, beautiful venue. The beach is fabulous as well as pools with bars (where you sit in the pool while having drinks). Great place for bulking :D (the gym is well equipped and not very crowded) Don't get thrown off by big description of what I didn't like - I was trying to be very detailed

CanadaAttention to detail was missing from our rooms - we didn't have a 'Do not disturb' sign and all of our toiletries needed refilling. We requested via the app but still ended up going to the front desk to request again in person. App was glitchy and we weren't able to take advantage of express checkout. Smoking in the lobby / common areas was prevalent, and made it tough to enjoy at times. Wifi could have been better in the pool/beach area but we were happy to disconnect! Beach was quite crowded most of the day and we found some of the vendors to be a bit bothersome.
Food was better than expected from the buffets! We appreciated having a food option nearby to the pool/beach for times we just wanted a snack and didn't want to go all the way back to the main lobby. As long as we were willing to get up early, we never had an issue getting a beach/pool chair in the morning. We had everything we needed from food, drinks, and entertainment for our 4 day stay. Some guests were complaining about the rooms being dated, we'd agree but we found them to be charming, spacious, clean and comfortable. Some staff was friendly some were just doing their job, but we didn't experience any major issues.

United KingdomNothing to do with the hotel but there were a lot of old people. I went with one of my friends and felt it was majority retirees so just a warning.
Room was good for what we paid, nice big bed. Access to loads of different pool and a long section of beach. Choice of restaurants was good considering an all inclusive.

United StatesA lot of people smoking cigarettes. It was impossible to breathe in fresh air. Everywhere we went people were smoking cigarettes, including inside the pool (very unsanitary), outside restaurants/food places, by the beach, by the pool, common areas. It was a smell that was so nauseating that could not be avoided. After dinner, we went straight to our room and couldn’t really enjoy the resort due to this reason. For that reason alone, I would never come back again. There should be designated smoking areas so that people who do not smoke cigarettes can enjoy the resort. I feel bad for the people that work there and have to breathe in those toxins every single day. They are exposed to second hand smoking which is known to cause cancer. The food in the buffet was okay. It was very catered towards Americans/Canadians and Europeans. I wish the food was more authentic. There was days where they had really good food in the buffet but it was hit or miss. There wasn’t even a Dominican restaurant. It was American, Japanese, Brazilian, Greek, Mediterranean, etc… we are in the DR not the United States or Canada or Europe. Do better.
I liked that the property was close to the beach. The beach was so beautiful and it was a perfect temperature in November. I liked that there was option to go to multiple pools. There is also a little village where all the Bahia principe resorts go to, such as the casino or nightclub. Our room was nice but a little outdated. It seemed that there was maintenance work and repairs that needed to be done. The checking in process was okay. They were a bit slow and it seemed that the technology there is not where it should be as they had to take turns using one computer to scan passports I think. The overall staff were really nice though and were funny as well. They cleaned the room every single day which was great. The overall resort was clean. People there work really hard and it does not go unnoticed. Shoutout to the bartenders, they were amazing! Shoutout to the entertainment staff, the kitchen staff, the servers they were great! I highly recommend going to Rodizio restaurant if you decide to come here. It was the best restaurant in my opinion.

United KingdomNot enough sunbeds. We had to fight every day for sunbeds - which I find not acceptable for hotel like this. Unless you come very early in the morning and leave a towel forget to have one. The hotel should do something about this 'wild' booking system. We were placed on the first floor in a place without a lift even though they knew that we were with a small child.
