Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaBreakfast was included and was from 8-10. The I initial buffet selection was more than adequate however items ran out quickly and were not topped up. The coffee was incredibly weak. I would go elsewhere for breakfast if I stayed again. I did let staff know that the food needed replenishment, however it was not followed up adequately.
Great location, simple rooms which were more than adequate. Everything was clean. The location is central and there is a fantastic cake/ cafe shop close by.

DenmarkWe ordered a room with own toilet and bath, but at arrival we got a room without. Same price. We came before closing of reception but no one there. No one picked up the phone, we called 4 times. Luckily a cleaning lady let us in and showed us to the room. Friendly personnel, not their fault. Found a lot of hair along the floor by the bed side. The joint shower you could not be used, because it was to narrow to enter, through the shower doors. You had to shower in the tub.
Good breakfast. Large rooms. Large joint balcony.

Czech RepublicThe room was very tiny, so bed was narrow and positioned at the corner. Little space for your things. Shared toilet is at the corridor. Acceptable for staying overnight, not for a week holiday.
The location is excellent - just in the middle of the town. You can park a car at the hotel court. The hotel is clean, staff very friendly. A breakfast good.

Denmarkthe floor outside the room was very squeaky, the shower-water was either boiling or freezing and the room was very hot. if you opened the windows you had the loud noise of traffic just outside, which was annoying.
it was located in the old part of town, which was absolutely breathtaking! The room was spacious and the breakfast was delicious! the person who greeted us for breakfast was very friendly, as was the one who guided us inside via phone upon arrival.

NetherlandsDuring our stay, there was no reception. When you arrive at the door you have to phone them first for to get instructions or that one of the staff comes to open the door for you. Only in the mornings staff was available (Situation was still related to COVID-19 regulations and precautionary measures)
A quite hotel in the center and very near to the sensations of Goslar. The breakfast was good and the young lady who was is responsible for the breakfast and reception was very friendly. Rooms are okay and clean. Internet worked okay. You can pay in the morning of the day as you leave.

very nice traditional German family run hotel. Excellent location within an easy walk of both downtown and the castle. Not the most modern but comfortable beds, good shower and wc. Excellent breakfast with a possibility to sit in the garden even if end March was a bit too early for that.

BulgariaFrustrating check in experience! Regardless of the time of arrival, even before 6 pm, one must make a telephone call to get the code. It is the only option. Being a foreigner on roaming, phone calls are expensive for me. Even more expensive, when all I can get to is voice mail. By the time someone answered almost an hour later, I had already accumulated roamig costs close to 25% of the room rate. And to add insult to injury, when eventually they picked up the phone, they laughted at my grievance. That is correct - laughed! As if it were funny that I wasted the most important hour of my one-day visit to Goslar, waiting like a fool in the street in front of their door.
No frills guest house in the old town of Goslar. Comfortable rooms. Very good breakfast.

United KingdomAn excellent hotel for anyone wishing to visit the Hartz Steam railways. It is a 6 minute walk from the mainline station. The hotel is situated right opposite the steam depot so photography is exceptional first thing in the morning and in the late evening when locomotives are on shed. There is a great choice of food on the restaurant menu and your drinks are delivered to the tables by the windows by a G scale locomotive and wagons. Make sure you book early though as they are very popular. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the town centre about a 10 minute walk away. An all round great place to visit.
