Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandWe had a very restful time here after a hectic few weeks travelling. The accommodation itself is beautiful and the view from the lounge to the volcanoes is stunning. Gisella cooks the most wonderful meals too. We enjoyed doing the horse ride to the upper part of the property one morning. More great views. It really was quite a treat staying here. Highly recommend.

GermanyWe had an awesome stay at Finca Queveri. The owner is an absolute lovely woman, very good cook (4 courses dinner with local food) and you can talk to her anytime. We had a nice room with a view all over the valley and the Vulcan Irazu and Turrialba. We went to the barn and our son loved the baby cows and the kind dogs. You can do a trail through the rainforest, watching lots of different birds in the morning and just enjoy life. We really recommend this beautiful place!!

The farm was an amazing place to hike, explore and see the views, hummingbirds, frogs, and fireflies at night! The dinner and breakfast were outstanding - all home- and slow-cooked. The horseback riding was stunning and an absolute highlight for all of us - the trails were breathtaking! We spent a lot of time chatting with the three siblings who run the establishments, and they were such great companions. A highlight of our two-week trip.

United KingdomWhat a special stay we had at Finca Queveri! Gisella and Roger made us feel incredibly welcome and at home immediately. The food was excellent and gave us the opportunity to experience authentic local home cooking. We highly recommend the horse riding tour-Gisella and Roger have some lovely horses and matched us with the horses they felt were most appropriate. They were very calm and easy to ride. Gisella gave us great insight into Costa Rican culture and some tips for the rest of our trip. She really is a wonderful host and goes above and beyond for her guests! The house also has incredible views over the valley and the volcano. We loved our stay! Thank you Gisella and Roger. Emma & James

GermanyPersonal, quiet, very authentic place off the beaten track on the countryside in the middle of nature, with excellent home cooked meals, a very kind and attentive host who is a local and has many good stories to tell. The food served is creative, experimental and also feels like a home cooked meal from grandmother. The views off the finca into the valley are amazing. There are also hiking trails. We saw coatis and hummingbirds and other birds such as oropendolas. Best to have a 4WD. Costa Ricans also spend their holidays here.

It took a little over one hour to travel by car from SJO to this lovely hotel set in a very quiet remote location close to the Poas Volcano. We felt very welcome here after our long journey from New York. Our room was rustic but very clean, the lighting good, bathroom was also nice. The best part of the stay is the beautiful gardens at the property and the wonderful country setting. We took a nice walk before dinner and it was a perfect way to relax after the trip up to the mountain. The common area, especially the living room was beautiful, the furnishings and the impressive tree (in the living room) were great. We enjoyed both our breakfast and dinner there. It is a perfect jumping off spot to start the tour of the CR volcanos.

United Arab EmiratesWhat a magical few days we had in this beautiful 90 year old farm house with the most mesmerising views and the best hostess one can ask for. She made us fresh and nourishing four course meals with Utmost care for our dietary preferences. Not just that, she was so amazing with my four year old son. She got him to do nature inspired artwork that made for the most memorable souvenirs and also got him to help in the kitchen making empanadas, he had an absolute blast! Nothing was too much to ask. All in all it felt like we were visiting a close relative who pampered us with loving food and so much joy. We didn’t want to leave! Thanks to her we had one of the most amazing stay in all of our travels. Must visit place in Costa Rica.

United StatesThe entire location is amazing, the host is absolutely wonderful, the views are beautiful and it made the drive worth it but that was the only thing we were unsure about this location! The very windy, gravel road was a little treacherous especially coming up it for the first time in the dark but we did make it up in our Nissan sedan and it was all worth it.
Everything was amazing, especially the gracious, nice, delightful host. She cooked locally inspired meals - breakfast and a 4 course dinner every day with all fresh ingredients (as much from the farm as possible) and it DELICIOUS! Unforgettable experience, can’t recommend it enough.

SpainI absolutely loved this place, Gisella was great, so warm and welcoming - the food she prepared was also incredible - super fresh and a well thought out healthy menu. I had originally thought to try and get there by public transport but in the end hired a car which I am so glad I did as it is quite off the beaten track, although I had no issue driving there, roads a bit bumpy but I was fine in a little non 4x4. The location is so peaceful and beautiful, and there is so much to see nearby. I went horse riding whilst I was there and had some great nighttime walks around the property - the nature is incredible and the fireflies made it feel very magical. I also went to the nearby thermal spa - I went at night in the rain and loved it ! All in all I would absolutely recommend.
