Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaToilet smelled however this seemed to be the same everywhere we stayed where the toilet was next to the sleeping room. The yulong snow mountain tour available through this hostel is more expensive than others (444 yuan each) however still convenient to book through them, however the company they book through are not flexible at all with the food they provide, boasting “lunch included” but when we told them we were vegetarian they said we had to bring our own food despite it being a 7am-6pm tour and refunded us a measly 10 yuan. However as we don’t speak Chinese this tour was still definitely the best option for us and we recommend if you are in the same boat!
Family run business (one woman and her mum, and her young daughter is often about). Owner speaks English well. The family is very lovely and make a nice atmosphere. Great location right next to the old town. The owner answered our millions of annoying questions, helped us book our trip to the yulong snow mountain, helped us book our bus to the tiger leaping gorge hike and gave us info on where to book other buses from, how to get to baisha, and provided us with a map of the old town. Beautiful garden, simple rooms but good enough, laundry available for 15 yuan. restaurant in the hostel is good for an easy breakfast we enjoyed the ‘continental breakfast’. Wifi available with VPN.

FranceNothing.
Thank you so much to the guesthouse owner, who helped me A LOT during my stay. he speaks English, and helped me book the Leaping Tiger Gorge tour with Tina's guesthouse (a bus comes to the guesthouse early morning, brings you to the gorge hiking trail, and bring your luggage directly to Tina's guesthouse). The room was very calm, the bed comfortable with nice soft sheets. The garden is so nice, with lots of flowers, and lots of resting areas. The guesthouse is situated in the modern part of Lijiang, but a 5-10mn walk from the South entrance of the old town, so very easy to reach. It is also a 15mn walk from the coach station. I would recommend the location because it is easy to find and easily reachable with heavy luggage. and calm!

RussiaJust need to mention few things that you might need to know while booking. There is no elevator in the hostel, so for old people and heavy luggage could be a problem. Air-conditioning is not included in the price. Should you need to freeze or heat the room you need to pay additional 15 yuan per day. Unfortunately breakfast could be served as from 8 am so if you go to early starting tours you need to take care of your breakfast yourself. Mattress was too hard for me, which is as I mentioned very usual in China. All in all it was a good experience.
First I would like to mention nice lady who is managing this hostel. She is very nice, speaking English, very kind and helpful and can make you stay feeling as at home. Hostel is located just 5 min walk from South entrance to the Old city and 20-25 min walk from Black dragon pool park. Everything is at walking distance. Airport shuttle bus final stop (at Civil Aviation Blue Sky Hotel) just 7 min taxi ride from hostel. On the way from the airport bus also stops on the street on the south side of Old city. So you can drop off there and take a city bus which stops on the opposite side of hostel street. Very easy to reach from the airport. Airport bus is running every 30 min. Hostel has a very nice courtyard with a small pool. Even if the room is a bit outdated and furniture simple and old, but clean, has everything that you need, kettle, free bottles of water, bath amenties. Kuo helped me to book a group day tour to Jade dragon snow mountain park at 468 yuan including cable car, park entrance ticket, lunch and oxygen. It started from the hotel on the nearest crossroad which is 5 min walk. Even if the tour was in chinese and I could not understand , driver and people in the group were so nice, they took care of me and look after me all the way so I couldn't be lost! Also if you want you can order an american or english breakfast with a good coffee at appr 70 yuan. Thank you!
