Not so easy to take a taxi because of how narrow the side alleys are. Though taxis can technically drive through the side alleys, those are NOT one-way lane so we saw how difficult it was for 2 cars travelling in opposite directions to squeeze through the lanes. Need to budget additional time when traveling to airport.

The hotel was located in a charming alley filled with interesting shops! We appreciated how big and comfortable and quiet the rooms were, with no unpleasant smells. The staff are very pleasant and Zachary in particular was very kind, helpful and approachable!

Would have like a fridge in the room. Also a rather enthusiastic cleaner threw away the box for my bathroom nightlight that has travelled all over the world with me, it wasn’t anywhere near the bin. We also had a takeaway container in the bathroom ready to be washed and re-used, and that was also disposed of.

Stayed at this hotel twice, enjoyed the central location and friendly and helpful staff. The room was very comfortable.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We loved our quiet room with it’s elegant design. The location couldn’t be better with the vibrant street and all the food stalls. Easy access to the subway. Our hosts, especially Jacky and Zachery were awesome. We can highly recommend this fabulous hotel.

Amazing location, nanuoguaxiang is full of local souvenirs stores, Gulou (local restaurants), subway are around the street and houhai lake is very close by. everythingcan be done within walking distance. Great to have the hutong vibes. the rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. the stuff is nice so i would recommend this place.

Lobby and corridors look a bit scruffy and need to be redecorated. They give a bad impression as the rooms are a lot nice. No safe in the room.

Staff were very helpful. Deluxe room has a seating area and a nice carved screen giving it a more Chinese character. The normal rooms look standard and could be anywhere.

Fantastic service, great location. The staff was truly kind and accommodating with all of my questions and needs (laundry, baggage storage, assistance with attractions and bookings). The location is 400 m from the metro so it’s easy to navigate all around the top Beijing attractions. The hotel is on a lively Hutong Alley with many shops and restaurants open late yet the hotel itself is quiet. The amenities were modern, clean and comfortable, five star feel.

Excellent location in very busy Hutong. Hotel exceptionally quiet. Spacious room. Great bedding. Furniture and decor authentic. Checkin was seamless. Highly recommend for an experience in Beijing Hutong. No meal options however plenty at variable prices within 100 metres. Beautiful walks to nearby canal experiencing community Hutong life.

I stayed in room 207. The wall is against a pub. My first night, pub would not stop the music till 12.45 am.

My stay was too short. I did not want to leave.

What a fantastic place to stay! the room was very clean, quiet and well presented. The staff have a very good English language level and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were happy to arrange anything I needed. The location could not be beaten, right in the middle of the hutong’s which are the old cities alleyways and courtyards. Steeped in history and culture. You are within a short walk of many top attractions including the bell and drum tower, the Lama Temple, Houhai lake, Shichahai and Beihai park. If you want to go further you are only a few minutes walk from the underground ,which is the best I have been on or 5 mins from a major bus route or taxi’s. Because of the location you are surrounded by a vast array of restaurants with many different cuisines at very reasonable prices. I have stayed here before and have no intention of ever staying anywhere else while in Beijing. I believe there could not be a better place to spend your time. I will return as soon as I am able.

You will here a lot of noise from the hallway and your room neighbours as sound insulation inside isn’t too great, just the windows are proper noise proofed. Not sure I would choose it for a private trip as price seems to be on the higher end but you get a very decent room for it!

Fantastic location to explore the Hutongs and many places close to the city centre. The room was very comfortable, with a very cozy and reasonably soft bed, and a Japanese toilet in the bathroom! Also liked the complementary water being refreshed every day. Nice style of the room as well and no noise coming from the very busy Nanluoguxiang, at least in the rooms out to the back of the hotel. Staff is very helpful too!
