We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Very cosy room in a traditional chilean house, very comfortable beds, a super local atmosphere, nice breakfast, very nice owners. The possibility to use the kitchen a bit to heat up water for my thermos, and using a microwave for some empanadas. very simple but perfect. Easy walking distance along peaceful streets to the town center. We will come back!

Residencial Tres Hermanos was clean, affordable and comfortable. The family who runs it was nice and welcoming. After staying in larger, impersonal hotels on my trip, I felt like I was in a home. The wifi worked well.

United StatesVery noise place! People keep slamming doors or talking loudly in the common area. Showers are restricted for 10mins from 6am to 11pm. No laundry facilities. Breakfast usually only had jam+croissant, coffee, ham cheese bread- More options would be better. They only accept cash.
Pamela and her mom are very sweet people! That's the only thing which changed the bad first impression I had on entering the room. Be prepared to use this place ONLY to sleep and store luggage, and explore city for majority of your time

Austriaunfortunately it was very very cold in the room, because the host turns off the heating most of the time; the first time just during the night but then during the day as well and because of that it was very uncomfortable in the room and when you came out of the shower breakfast in general was okay, but one day we were the last who had breakfast and there was no cheese and butter left. I recommend having breakfast early. you have to share the kitchen with the host family and most of the time the kitchen was occupied

United StatesBreakfast was average, nothing special though we didn't walk away hungry. A bit disappointed based on reviews I had read and owner appeared to be a good cook. No hand soap or towel in bathroom. Given basic hygiene and Covid, soap is a basic essential.
Good location. Safe area and easy walking to waterfront and downtown. Super sweet lady who runs/owns hostel. Gave us a great recommendation nearby for dinner. Son provided a car shuttle to airport which was convenient (not free).

GermanyDue to covid, the kitchen was not open to use. But we could store some things in the fridge. We totally understand the decision, since it is their family kitchen, it just would have been nice to know beforehand.
The staff is very friendly, everything was very clean and the breakfast was really good! The serve homemade cake with the breakfast, which is great.
