Breakfast is a bit late. Almost all the tour are earlier than the beginning of the breakfast. Even though the hotel provide a snack is not enough and with a lower quality than the breakfast it self.

HOTEL/HOSTAL: There is no kitchen facility which is a bit of a bummer, and no kettle or anything in the room. The room is also extremely small and cramped - think a small walkway around the bed and that's the whole room! We did know that when we booked though as the pictures are accurate!

TRANSPORT: we used the shuttle service and had Hostal Montepardo book it for us as we landed in Calama. It was smooth and easy. LOCATION: It is tucked away towards the edge of town, which means it's delightfully quiet. It's very safe and easy to navigate - about 10-15mins walk into the main area depending on your pace - we walked everywhere even at night with no issues. HOTEL/HOSTAL: gorgeous, a really beautiful vibe and just a lovely place to chill when needed. They are so sweet and will pack you a takeaway breakfast to collect from the communal fridge in the morning (juice, sandwich and a piece of fruit). They also let us check in as soon as we arrived (which was the morning around 9am) which was so kind and wonderful as we'd been travelling since 7pm the night before. A shower and a nap made such a difference. We booked tours through them too and they were fantastic and reasonably priced!

The place was super cute. It was a 10 minute walk to town center. But it’s a safe walk even at nice. The bed wasn’t super firm and had indented from people sleeping so if you need a firm bed this may not work.

We spoke no Spanish but the staff were very helpful and managed to get us on tours that had some english speaking guides. They made us feel very comfortable and the whole place was really inviting. The view of the night sky was marvelous from the roof terrace.

So colorfully decorated in Chilean colors, so laid back, so comfortable and quiet, really great staff especially Alicea, who cooked us breakfast every morning, cleaned our rooms , did laundry for a nominal fee, with a smile on her face. Excellent location to walk to the “downtown area.” Located in safe area where hostal is secured.

A little out of the town but easy walk

Comfortable stay, the owner was so helpful organising us a last minute transfer to the airport and he went over and above to help us we really did appreciate it, good shower and they provided a breakfast for our early departure, beautifully decorated!

The hostal is a 15 minute walk from centre so be prepared for that. There were no bikes in working order.

Very close to the bus terminal, on a quiet side street away from the main part of town. (You do need to walk 5 minutes to get to the center of town for food). Nicely decorated with several places to hang out.

No Aircon despite the desert heat, but there was a fan. Otherwise, no real issues of note!

The hostel is in a quiet area of town however not far from anything of relevance. The bed was cosy and the staff were all friendly and always took care of one's needs with a smile on their face.

Location: This was the only thing that bothered me a bit as it was a bit away from the main square and I did travel alone. However, I would stop by the town after my tours everyday and get my dinner back to the hostel. NOTE: there are bikes that you can use to go into town; I just didnt. Also this is my personal opinion and does not reflect on what other travelers have mentioned.

Staff: Rodrigo (owner - I think), we started corresponding even before I arrived. He helped me with my airport transfer to booking all my tours and giving me recommendations on things to do in Atacama. He was in constant communication even when there were changes in my tour operator. The front desk person (sadly I don't remember her name) - she was always there with a smile and her helpful demeanor. I don't speak Spanish and she does not speak English - however we managed to communicate perfectly to get the messaging across to each other. Room: The room and the bathroom was spacious enough for 1 person and I got a good night's rest after a hectic day of being outside. Hostel: While this is advertised as a hostel, to me it was more of a B&B. This place was immaculately clean and spotless. There is a common kitchen that everyone has access too. I met some fellow travelers and we would all convene in the kitchen in the evening to swap stories and talk about our upcoming days. There is a cute terrace that gives you an unobstructed view of Mt. Licancabur. Breakfast - While I didn't have chance to have breakfast in the hostel as I out of the door before the breakfast time, the front desk lady had a packaged breakfast ready to go. She would ask the previous night what I wanted and had it ready in the fridge for me to take it. Overall - I absolutely loved this hostel and the staff. They are beyond kind and caring and take good of you. I am past my partying days and I wanted a place that was quiet and clean - this hostel went above and beyond to meet my needs. To Rodrigo and staff - Thank You for making my stay pleasant and memorable.

My only minor comment would be about the shower drainage - as the shower floor is level, so the water pooled a little bit before draining fully. I personally prefer water to drain fast, but recognize this is a minor issue that exists in many 4-star plus hotels as well. Given the wonderful price and experience at the hostel, I felt a little guilty even mentioning such a small thing.

Rodrigo (owner? Staff?) went above and beyond to help me plan my time at San Pedro - from booking shuttles from and to the airport, to scheduling tours and patiently answering all my questions and making all the changes due to my flight time changed. I sincerely thank him for taking so much time to make sure my plans were in order. I also have to mention the lovely female staff member who works on the property. Despite our language barrier, she was so caring and tried her best to provide support throughout my stay. I regret that I didn’t give her a hug before leaving for the airport. The hostel itself is so charming - the decor is lovely, the room is clean and comfortable, the breakfast was nutritious. Overall I had an amazing experience at the hostel. I will be sure to recommend the hostel to any friends traveling this way!
