Reading light is not that great (bad color temperature, it should be warm, not cold) and not enough power sockets in the room.

Possiblity to check in online and then enter the room with the smartphone is amazing. As well as location, facilities and many more things. Even very convenient laundry where you don't need detergent.

It was a bit expensive, but it is hard to expect lower prices in Switzerland.

I stayed in a few hostels during my trip, this was the only one that I felt very good about. The room was very nice, with a sink inside, a towel and hairdryer included. Friendly stuff as well.

It was a bit confusing at first to find the reception desk and the rooms. But i was very tired when arriving : that may be why. More annoying : my lamp and electric plug were not working. I had to wait for the morning to find a spot to charge my phone. But that's a small thing.

I had a very good price. Thanks also to Booking :-) Bed was comfortable and already almost set when i arrived. That was a plus. People have been very quiet and i had a very good night sleep. Breakfast is to recommend because everything is so expensive outside. They offer a lot of choice of food. Staff is very nice at the desk.

There are two things I didn't like. The usual soft flat pillow and bad lighting. The pillows are almost always a problem because they are more flat than not. I usually bring my own with me. The room lightning was too dim for reading while bed light was led so it was uncomfortable to read with it. But the common room are more than nice to read at. So these are small things but if it were improved, it would be a perfect hostel.

This hostel is the most practical hostel I ever stayed in and I visited a fair share of hostels. The check in and room key are all electronic without waiting in line at a reception. The room has a bathroom sink, desk and chairs and tall closets in the vestibule while the beds are separated by a wall. The sheets and towels are included in the price which is always a plus. The shared bathroom consist of three shower rooms which then have a bench and hook outside the shower cubicle so that the clothes, towel and personal items don't get wet. The shared kitchen is clean and has a lot of utilities which is rare for a hostel. They also have a small snack bar with pizza and pastries. The common room has different parts with dining tables, sofas and couch and a lot of power outlets. The location is 5 minutes from the central station and 15 from the center which was a great distance for a walk. The staff efficiently answered my questions and request. I really liked my experience in this hotel and I highly recommend it.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The capsule is a great concept offering privacy in a dorm. Wonderful staff and a practical location just a couple of blocks from the railway station, yet in a quiet neighbourhood.

Was no real atmosphere, seemed to be a lot of older men staying. Man on reception desk didn't seem like he liked people or his job, you were just a number rather than a guest.

They did everything right. I loved the fact the rooms and pods were secure with key codes. Pods were spacious, secluded and well equip with chargers. Towels were provided. The kitchen was brilliant. Darts and pool downstairs. As well as a great shower with shampoo!

Hospitality has traditionally been about people welcoming people. While the staff here was fantastic, I found it puzzling that the business opted for automated, impersonal check-in machines. This seems to be a trend in Basel; I noticed a similar "do it yourself" dynamic at Silo Hostel. Additionally, the system should clarify the purpose of the phone number request. Some guests, like me, use multiple phones and may only have WhatsApp on one of them. It would be helpful if the menu specified what the phone number will be used for so we can provide the appropriate one. I appreciate the flexible approach to having reception and F&B staff, but it might be beneficial to place information near the automated machines indicating where guests can find assistance or that they can check in with a real person at the bar. Compared to the warmth of the ground floor, the other floors feel a bit empty and soulless. I believe that bringing the same inviting vibe to the corridors and rooms would elevate this hostel to a 10-star experience.

Upon checkout, they offered a luggage room, so if you want to store your belongings, you can request a cabinet key at the reception. The entire hostel encourages socialization and is perfect for working commuters, with tables and seating areas spread throughout the space. This layout allows you to choose between different rooms and vibes, making it an excellent place to meet with friends. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor. Additionally, being on the south side of the river means you’re just a short walk from the main attractions.

Great Location 5mins walking from Basel SBB with backpack. A free basel transpotation card & door no.& Bed no. With password will be sent to u by email after u made online check-in. Clean & comfortable bed. Elevator to all floors. Public toilets & bathrooms are clean. Kitchen is well equipped with all cooking tools. A large locker inside rooms. But u've to bring along with yr own lock or u could borrow a lock with a deposit chf10 at reception. Enough spaces inside the room for 6 ladies. Receptionist guided me to visit Basel local sightseeing & restaurants. Every staff is very helpful.

The capsule ventilation was too weak for comfortable breathing: a lot of people slept with the capsule door open because of it. The capsule room didn't have any space to hang a coat.

Comfortable bed, for a capsule. The hotel has really pleasant shared spaces to chill, eat and read. Check-in process is easy and the stuff is nice and helpful.
