Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIt was my first stay at the Seaside Hotel but it had been fantastic. The room was clean and quite comfortable; I appreciated the choice to not get the room cleaned every day so to be a little more eco friendly. The rooms had plenty of electric sockets and a good illumination to choose from. The staff was friendly and always available. The breakfast was a la carte and rather delicious. Great location. It is easily reachable from YVR airport with the Sky train first, then the Seabus and finally a pair of minutes on foot on the seafront. The view from the seafront is on the Vancouver Downtown skyline. There is also a neat choice of restaurants and cafes in less than 5 minutes on foot from the hotel's door.

United StatesI drove up from Olympia Washington for a sola spa-liday. I arrived on Sunday and left on Tuesday. I self parked and could not even imagine dealing with that on a Friday, Saturday, during the summer, or with any events going on at the Shipyards. Being that I came on a Sunday I was able to find parking quickly right by the entrance to the elevators right below the hotel. This is akin to a mall parking lot; everybody parks down here to do different things in this area, so imagine having to deal with parking to get your hotel and everybody else parking to enjoy festivities and events that take place down here. Read the amenities portion on their website thoroughly, as it will let you know that you will have to find parking down there, then, essentially park illegally because you have to go upstairs immediately and let them know so they can enter your vehicle license plate number into their system, do not pay at the kiosk in the garage!!! Self-pay was $32 dollars, valet was almost $50…this is per night!!! Again, I was by myself, doing my own thing on my own schedule so my car never left its parking spot. Also, the kiosk only accepts credit cards; if one wants to pay online, one must download the app and there is virtually zero signal in the garage. I watched many people frustrated and irritated with trying to get a signal so they can download this app to pay for their parking. NOTE: Wi-fi connections were spotty & slow throughout the entire Shipyards. As soon as you get into the room, I would suggest checking the thermostat and making sure that the wardrobe door is open to expose the refrigerator. My refrigerator was not even remotely cold for the first 24 hours of my stay;having the door closed prevents air from flowing, which doesn’t help the refrigerator cool. Also, I did pull the fridge from the little cubby it was in and the back of it was in dire need of vacuuming; lots of dust caked on there…which doesn’t help cool refrigerator either.

CanadaAll good!
This was my first stay at the Seaside Hotel, and it definitely won't be my last. Why? 1. The Seaside Hotel is easily reached from YVR Airport via the Skytrain and Seabus ( a quick ferry ride from Waterfront to Lonsdale Quay) 2. The Lonsdale Quay location offers a great selection for shopping, restaurants, the summer Friday Night Market with live music, food trucks, vendors, and stunning views of the Vancouver skyline. The waterfront has a long pier perfect for evening strolls to watch spectacular sunsets. 3. The Seaside is a beautifully designed hotel, with those extra touches that make for a great stay.

CanadaThe check in wasn’t a delightful experience. The app only provided one code which couldn’t be used by both guests. This caused confusion when we arrived separately and the front desk wasn’t super friendly about it.
Location was great, aesthetics were nice. Clean space. Friendly cleaning and support staff. The scooters for our kids was an A+

ChinaI wish the restroom have a lock. That is so weird for my friend and me to not lock the door when we take shower. And the shower area only has one piece of glass door, that is weird too.
The breakfast is so tasty, I’d like to take it more.

Canadaquilt was a tad thin for cold days, i know ican turn room temp up,but then its too hot. curtain controls in odd place, and my husband is blind and a staff member made him wait for someone else as she was not comfortable helping him. i understand people have different comfort levels with human interaction but maybe hospitality is not the right choice? he was left feeling like a turnip a bit.
staff was friendly, room and bed was comfy, clean, nice habour views
