Room 400 was a wonderful, clean room--very quiet and private, large with a king bed, couch, chair, large TV, large mini fridge, kettle, coffee maker (and I think a microwave), very large walk-in shower and bathroom :) We went to a concert in the Wicket Hall, so staying in the hotel is super handy! Staff are very friendly and accommodating :) And the off-site parking lot is big enough that we could park two cars in there ($15 each per night) :) I would absolutely recommend staying at The Strath!

The breakfast was very disappointing only fruit and a bagel and scrambled eggs when requested. Expected a lot more. Arrived and given a room and it was already slept in! Didn't like the atmosphere felt very awkward didn't feel comfortable with the owner.

Central heating system wasnt working properly, window frames are very old and in poor conditions, with many air gaps, so the room was very cold and wind makes more noise, electric system is not enough to support plug loads, such as hair dryer or 2 portable heaters.

It was clean. There was a bar fridge in the room. They allowed late check-in.

The bed was rock hard. The room was extremely small. You could hear people walking overhead until late into the night. The noise above your head was deplorable. The bathroom was really cold, no control over heat and extremely small. The door didn't fit the room properly and light glowed onto the room. The television didn't have many options to watch.

Location was great and so was the breakfast.

Pool was being drained and refilled our first day. We went next day and the smell was overwhelming. Big pool but the ventilation needs improving. It wasn't a chlorine smell either, it was musty and my asthmatic husband had to leave. Other than that we had a great time.

Bed was too hard, like concrete. People overhead walking all night in hard sole shoes. Talking, music and television overhead was loud. The smell outside from a oil barrel smelled horrible.
