Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hong KongI think we weren’t given enough information at how old and worn the hotel was. The carpets in the hallways needed to be changed years ago and were threadbare. The carpets in our apartment were very worn at the edges. The fridge was dented, the TV scratched badly, the office chair broken at the desk ( you couldn’t adjust it up and down), the single small lounge very old & hard to sit in.
The views were excellent. The trees had changed to the their autumn colours so walking on Bute St close by was amazing. Restaurants are close by and The Italian Kitchen around the corner was excellent! Also went for a walk on Halloween 🎃 evening and it was great to experience the hundred of children with their mums and dads trick and treating. Granville Island was close by so we walked to the ferry & had a dry scenic trip on this tiny ferry. The food market & arts & craft market were great!

United KingdomMy room smelt a bit stale but that improved after having the balcony doors opened and airing it out.
The location was great, it felt like a safe neighbourhood. It was very convenient having grocery stores/ supermarkets nearby. Having a washer/dryer in the apartment was very helpful for longer stay. The housekeepers were great at giving the room a daily tidy.

CanadaThe building is older, so you can see some older bits like a rotted baseboard and a stain on the ceiling, but nothing affecting comfort. Also, the water pressure is insanely high. I've never been cleaner after a shower.
Right in the middle of everything. We walked everywhere.

AustraliaOur room was on the second top floor with beautiful views however it was right next to the lift and we could hear the lift noise in the room. Also the external door is not sound proof so any noise in the hallway can be heard in the room.
The staff are very pleasant and helpful. They allowed us a late checkout of 12 noon. The room has a kitchen which allowed us to be self sufficient. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk to Canada Place. We chose this hotel for the price but it is not the best location.

United StatesOverall property needs renovations. Hallways on the floors our group stayed on were not clean. One of the elevators was not working. While the rooms were clean they needed maintenance; things were broken, no grills on air conditioners, holes/large indentions in walls.
Overall most staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. Water pressure in shower was great. Staff addressed our concerns.

United KingdomThere was work going on to the electrics and water in the building. Fortunately, as ours was a one-night stay, this didn't affect us. But, if we'd been staying longer, this would have been an issue. Also, the stairwell was purely for escape purposes. That meant you couldn't easily go from one floor to another via the stairwell. If you inadvertently tried the stairs, the door would lock behind you and you have to walk up or down to three designated levels in order to be able to get back into the hotel proper. Not good for a Brit who likes to use stairs more than elevators! With only two of the three lifts working, if we wanted to go to our room or switch floors (I was on the 11th floor, my sister was on the 10th) we could be kept waiting for 10 minutes just to get into a lift. Not good.
I liked that each room had its own balcony. Also, the bedroom / bathroom / lounge & kitchenette were good to have. My sister had to wait almost an hour before she could check into her room (adn we arrived at 4pm, like they said).

CanadaSome areas are really dated but the updated suites look lovely.
We could not get the suite we had booked due to renovations it we were upgraded to a large penthouse. It is due for renovations so it was dated. However, bed was great and jacuzzi tub wonderful after a day of hiking. Easy walk to all the sites. We also had water view and sat out and enjoyed it every evening.

United KingdomThe lift system seemed slow and it was difficult to use the stairs except for going down to the lobby.
The room was well equipped with full kitchen facilities. It was quiet and very clean. There was an excellent heated outdoor swimming pool and a gym. The location was pretty central and felt safe. The check out time was very civilised.
