Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaRoom could have been a little cleaner.
We are a 40yr old couple. We like that this spot was right in the middle of a party street. Fraternity on one side, bar on the other. We had a great time people watching, out front of the building. It gave us something to do after we came back from our event.

CanadaIF YOU ARE MOBILITY-CHALLENGED OR DISABLED IN ANY WAY, DO NOT STAY HERE. The six stairs to Suite 105 were somewhat difficult for my arthritic knees. There were no useful handrails. All other rooms and suites are up higher. IF YOU ARE A SUPER-PLUS-SIZED PERSON, the placement of the toilet in Suite 105 will be difficult for you, because of the location of the towel heater. I am a plus-size person. I warn you honestly. The shower is excellent, and very spacious. The accommodations were built to fit the Victorian house, and the bathroom is quirky. NOTE THAT THE FRAT HOUSE NEXT DOOR PLAYS UNBELIEVABLY LOUD MUSIC, ON AND OFF, FROM 10 p.m. TO ABOUT 2 A.M. The reviews will warn you. The staff will warn you. I am warning you. The bass shakes the whole house. THE WHOLE SEPARATE HOUSE. It will shake YOU. Earplugs help. ✔️ How the neighbours on the other side tolerate the frat house every night all year, I do not know. Just don’t stay here if that would be unbearable for a night or two. Windows: no windows open in 105. (There is a good ceiling fan.)
This hotel is in a great location: the Spadina Subway is very, very close by, and it is right next to a City of Toronto “Green P” parking lot (safe, and very reasonably priced). Drive here, use transit while in town. The staff are wonderful. The suite I had was very clean, and spacious. There is a grocery store on Bloor, and many restaurants - as well as the Madison Pub, if that is of interest. “The Annex” is a great neighbourhood, and the University of Toronto campus is right there. PS: I liked having a table and chairs, as well as a bed to sit on, and a mini fridge. Check with staff: every room is different.

CanadaIt wasn’t very clear where to check in. This is right next to a very big and popular student bar. We stayed on a Monday night so did not hear anything and maybe it is sound protected from the bar on other nights I can not say but something to keep in mind. I did hear big trucks which sounded like garbage trucks in the early hours around 6:00 am. Which were noisy. Other than that it was quiet. Lots of stairs to get to your room. It was good for one nights stay.
The location was where we wanted to be. It was clean and the price was better then most places to stay in downtown Toronto. It’s an old hotel that makes you feel like you walked right into a hotel in the middle of Ireland somewhere.

CanadaNo early breakfast was available. I didn't want to confront the beggars in front of the Tim Hortons so I had to walk almost to Bathurst Street to get something to eat before 9:00 AM. The bathroom was extremely cold, owing to a single-paned window.
I enjoyed the Victorian furniture and the proximity to the subway and several restaurants.

CanadaIt's only slight, but I feel like the many (many) drawers in the kitchenette could have stored something, even if it were a note to say 'please ask us for the things you might need'. Also, the TV was confusing as the channels took some finding and just as we got to the point of calling for help, was figured out. Other than that, the stay was all I expected it to be!
On arrival we were given a larger room with a kitchenette attached, with kettle and keurig, and were promptly provided with utensils and dishware once we asked for them. The space was good, the beds were comfortable, and the water was hot. Having the pub next door was lovely, especially after having been out all day and just wanting a drink and some decent food at the end of it. The pub staff were excellent, too! The location is great. Around the corner from Spadina metro station and down the road from the tram and a grocery store and pharmacy just 5 mins along the road, too.
