Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere are no staff present and the key code is sent via email on the afternoon of arrival. We didn't have mobile data as we are from the UK so this gave me anxiety about getting into the building let alone our room. I sent several emails for the code to be sent the day before, but no joy. They did send me the wifi code the day before and we then had to stand in the doorway to log into the wifi to then open my email address to get the door entry code into the building. The code was sent at 12pm on day of arrival. This is not convenient for foreign travellers without phone data. To top it off, we were on the 3rd floor, no lift with ski bags as we were just visiting via a ski trip. We only knew there was no lift and the floor we were on after the confirmation came through. The bed was not very comfortable I'm afraid to say. The foot paths are not cleared of snow on the hotels side of the street. The snow ploughs dumped all the snow along our side of the street. So getting suitcases over the pile of snow was inconvenient. We did love the location just 5 minutes walk from the covered car park, $18 A day, worth every penny not to have to dig your car out of the snow or get a parking ticket. It was also only 10 minutes walk to the Chateau Frontenac and old town Quebec with many lovely eating places. Especially restaurant 1640.
Location was very good It was clean with plenty of towels and toiletries.

United StatesThere is no parking, just garage parking near by. Did not get a text/ email about how to get into the loft. had to call in for the code and they recommending to book on their website rather than booking.com
I liked that is felt like more if an apartment than a hotel and the kitchen was stocked with pots and pans.

SpainIf I had to find something, the couch falls apart very easily and it also looked like no one had cleaned underneath the cushions on it before my stay.
Almost unbeatable location right in the heart of Old Québec and 15 min away from the train station. Has everything you need. Check-in was easy, safe and contactless.

FranceCheck-in is at 4 pm despite the cold and COVID restrictions. You cannot leave your luggage at the residence. Instead, you have to lug your suitcase across town by public transportation to another listing run the same company and then bring it again to this residence later in the day. Also, although they're supposed to send you the door code prior to check-in time, I had to phone them myself after 4 pm because I had still received no information whatsoever. On arrival, there were absolutely no knives (except butter knives) available in the kitchen. I had to go borrow a steak knife from another apartment and a few hours later, they gave me the code to enter an empty apartment where I could borrow a chef's knife.

CanadaThere is nothing I didn't like about the place. I highly recommended this place.
The place is well located around the tourist spot and everything you need is just a walking distance. Definitely we will come back again and book in this place.

Cute loft right in Old Quebec. New appliances and renovated bathroom. While keeping the the old, heritage look with the brick walls.

United StatesToo many stairs for seniors with heavy suitcases. It was always kind of warm and we could not leave the windows open due to mosquitos. A few window screens would solve this problem and allow some fresh air to circulate. The refrigerator's bottom draw did not fit properly (it would cause the door not to close completely). The kitchen sink's faucet was loose but worked ok.
Comfortable, clean and great location with enough space to enjoy being there.

CanadaIt was difficult to ask for an early check in, and they should have an option to hold your bags for you before the 4pm check in. Quebec is all hills so dragging our bags was tough.

CanadaThere was garbage left from previous guests in the bin and I found a long black hair in the towels.
The room didn't look like the photo, it was very basic, but clean, recently renovated and had everything necessary for a one-night stay. The location was excellent: close to all sights.

CanadaThe bed (mattress) was not as confortable as we would’ve liked but it was not too bad either, we got the apartment on the last floor, it is a lot of stairs to go to the unit especially when you come back from long day in the city and you have to climb almost 70 stairs, there is no elevators.
The location is great, we found no problems regarding the codes to enter the building and the apartment, walking distance to the old Quebec , the city Gates are 2 minutes walking, pubs and restaurants are 2 blocks away, bus stop is really close, 10 min away from Via Rail station, ( high hill 10 min walking) the apartment was clean when we arrived, everything was working, kitchen, microwave, there were plates, glass , fridge, towels, etc…

CanadaLike in most accommodations with kitchenettes, they had old crusty sticky pans. It seems they tend to forget looking into them everywhere we go! 😣 Here however, the service was exceptional in replacing them and quite promptly I must say. Thank you for a wonderful experience! 🤗 N.🌺
