Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesComing in late (after 10 pm) and walking from the train terminus, the people we encountered on the street (the houseless) were a concern since we had young children with us.
The employee running the taxi/transportation desk was absolutely the best!!! She was efficient friendly knowledgeable and so helpful in getting g our large group to the cruise ship terminal in one piece!!!

CanadaWe arrived early and our rooms were ready, but they wanted $25 an hour to go to room so it would have been $75 per room. We declined and they stored our luggage which was great. I would understand if our rooms were ready and they rushed to get them cleaned, but she told me they were ready and that we could go into them, but there would be a charge that I don’t understand. It would’ve made no difference to the hotel.

Location was central to everywhere. The walking distance to Waterfront station made it an ideal spot for travel to and from the city.

CanadaCheck in was 4 - 5pm, we were 20 minutes early but willing to wait till 4ish, they did not have a room for us except one that was "accessible" which would mean nowhere to sit because chairs removed to accommodate a wheelchair. Offered "complimentary upgrade" that was going to cost $, but would give us a "discount". No choices as it was on a concert event night in the middle of high season in a destination town (pretty much had to take the upgrade to have a place to sit). In any case *neither* room was available, "come back in an hour so housekeeping could clean". Given coupon for the bar so we could wait there and ended up spending money we hadn't really intended to. Felt like the old "bait and switch" when the room was booked seven months ago.
The room was very nice; great view; the staff were very good in all places we went in the hotel; location was convenient to SkyTrain; very walkable area; good security features.
