The hotel is also used for weddings and the Lakeside Grill restaurant (the only one in the hotel) was closed to residents for two of our 3 days there. It would be better if there was a separate function facility or a second smaller restaurant for residents to use on such occasions. Parking was difficult on the two 'function' days as there was no parking that was reserved for hotel residents. Would be worth checking if there are functions on at the hotel before finalising your booking.

Room, air con, breakfast, pool and gym were all good. The ice machine was good.

We were put in a pet friendly room and you could definitely tell by the smell, so if that's an issue for you then I would be sure to let them know you do not want a pet friendly room. It's great that they allow pets and for anyone traveling with an animal this would be a great option. The rooms seemed to be well sound proof as I didn't hear much from the other rooms. The outside door did not lock as stated at night and there were no cameras for security. The area did not seem to be a high crime area but something to keep in mind. There also was a lot of trash left on the grounds but that seems to be an issue throughout Halifax.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The building was well maintained. Breakfast was at a great time and a great value. The pool was very clean albeit a bit on the cooler side. My kids loved playing the vintage arcade games like pac man and street fighter. The views were beautiful and it was lovely to be able to sit by the lake. We did not swim but we saw multiple people going in for a swim or a ride on a paddle board. The showers were very hot and the water pressure was a waterfall! Bed were comfy. Our room had a microwave and a refrigerator with a very small freezer.

I recommend to have a clear window glass, because of foggy window it wasn't possible to see the beauty of the area... One of the lift was out of order, was to long to wait until working lift will come up to the 9th floor....

The left elevator was not working for the duration of my stay. This was very inconvenient. Very long waits and the single elevator was always full. This was very poor.

Breakfast offerings were great. Room was also good, However my room was not cleaned one day and I had to ask the front desk to have it cleaned when I was out. Location was also good. That was also one of the reasons why this hotel was chosen.

Debit machine not working properly, was not able to check in until after check in time, hard to find our room outside very minimal signage and very vague directions. Housekeeping only lightly knocked once and then entered the room.

The only negatives were: 1) our bathroom door was rubbing (the floor transition, I think), making it hard to open and close (plus, it was noisy) 2) my daughter stepped on a safety pin on the floor that pricked her foot, but it wasn't ours, so we could only assume it was left on the floor 3) the window was obscured. Seemed like it was dirty outside or almost like window tint that bubbles up

The hotel employees were so friendly and nice, especially the cleaning staff. The breakfast was superb - excellent food, tons of food choices, lineups moved quickly and serving dishes were replenished quickly and efficiently, right up to the last minute of breakfast hours.

Pool area seemed kinda small ( not alot of chairs/space to sit). 1 elevator was broken, other than that, no issues.

Loved the view of the lake, sitting outside by the water was so peaceful. Staff were friendly, the restaurant was really good, rooms were nice, spacious, beds were comfy. Kids enjoyed the arcade.

It is difficult to parking if arrive late. My room has a big brown tinted window so it was always 'cloudy' outside, make sure to avoid these rooms. It might be easy to get lost in the hotel since it has two buildings and the stages are not in the same level :P

The location is very good, right next to the lake with accessibility. The room is clean and quiet. There are plenty of choice for the breakfast and the dinning room is big enough for rush hour in the morning.

The parking is free for guests at the hotel, but the spaces are a little tight. Not much room to move in there once the parking lot starts filling up. If you can find your way, there is additional parking around back. Unfortunately, no one told me that until I came back to the hotel one day to find no parking out front and had to run inside to ask. Also, the TV service was a bit of a problem. I wasn't there to watch TV the whole time, but after running around Halifax all day, I just wanted to unwind in the evening. The remote control was all messed up with half the buttons saying one thing, but then you press them and they do something else. By the time someone finally gave me a working remote control, my stay was almost over. I'm hoping this was a one-off and not a common occurrence at this hotel.

The place appeared to be clean. No nasty surprises like I've seen at other hotels! Staff was very nice and answered all of my questions. The included breakfast was very good. Never had a problem finding seating in the restaurant. Lakeside Bar & Grill, the restaurant within the hotel, was very good. I ate dinner in there a couple times and was quite happy with the service and food both times.
