we booked 5 days in advance and were held up by rain after the first day and knew we were going to be late so we advised the hotel the morning after we booked. They flat out refused to give us any refund or discount and were just plain rude about it. Understand if we had cancelled the night before but not when you advise them 5 days before hand.

there is huge construction going on, they are destroying the forest by building houses for Americans to buy. the wildlife is practically non-existent due to the disturbance from huge trucks driving through the grounds of the hotel from 6am to 7pm. we were really disappointed that this tranquil oasis was not as described :( although the staff were really friendly the service was below par, they provide you with a WhatsApp number to message with any issues - I informed them that our safe was not working, but even after 2 follow -up messages I still had no reply. eventually they sent someone unannounced at 7am, banging on our door, which woke us up….not great…

Staff we great until we checked in. Twice I asked for a waiter to take a drinks order at the pool. No one came. After we checked out, I realized I left my expensive shoes in the cupboard in the room. I contacted them via booking.com and almost zero interest in trying to look for them (the room was 50 yards from the lobby). 2 days later they said the shoes were not there. Obviously enough time for another guest to snatch them, or maybe one of the snooty staff? Either way, not impressed with customer service.

The view was great, but the room was a bit to "bombastic" for our liking. If you are into luxurious places, you'll love it, but for us it took away from the fact that you are in the middle of a rainforest.

We booked the place (Tree Hut) for the view and as expected it was truly amazing! Restaurant on site had delicious food, not overly expensive.

We went because we were considering buying a property in the development. This trip cured that interest. They put us in the worst room in the place even though it was empty. It was incredibly dark next to a still water feature full of mosquitoes. We had to lug our bag up three flights of stairs because they have no phones to call for someone. The service was terrible. The gate guard was rude, the front desk haughty and indifferent, and the wait staff took 20 minutes to get us a drink at lunchtime while we sat at a table where the floor hadn’t been swept and was disgusting.

It’s getting just a tad run-down. They could replace some awnings and parts of roofs. Our outdoor shower & tub area were pretty dirty and full of leaves. Granted, it’s the jungle.

We had no idea there were so many things to do there. We rode bikes around the expansive property, through groves and lush jungle. We hiked to an amazing tree house that has an incredible view. We kayaked on the river, we swam in the pool, we took a Mayan cooking class. Everything was right there. And the gardens were incredible - so many exquisite flowers in bloom.
