The area where the hotel is located is very dirty and dangerous after sunset.

This hotel is quite old and a little tired. It is a business hotel and if you are visiting for pleasure, there are better places to stay. Overall the staff were very friendly, but we arrived late at night after a long flight and the check-in process was really terrible. It took far too long (over 40 minutes) and the receptionist was not very welcoming. Despite requesting rooms close together when we booked, on arrival my husband was told the only rooms available were on different floors. When I then asked them again to re-check our booking, suddenly they were able to give us two rooms on the same floor (having realised that they had made a mistake). We are a family travelling together with two kids - clearly rooms on separate floors would not have been acceptable. (It is a huge hotel!)

The hotel was clean and the breakfast buffet was good.

When you go inside it's great, the building is great, only downside is the neighborhood is not very clean the front, is not the best, but at the same time because of the location everything was close and the staff help you if you need assistance with transportation.

The rooms were very nice, the staff was super helpful and nice. The restaurant, we loved that it opened until very late and open really early, the food was very good and it had some variety.

We had difficulty making a reservation for an early arrival. Our plan was to arrive mid-morning and book just for the day as we were flying out later that evening. Email exchanges were positive, but upon check-in, we were informed that we could not check in until late afternoon. This of course should have been made clear from the hotel staff at the time of booking, but it was not. Upon arrival, I had to pay for the previous evening, although we just arrived in the morning. The hotel management needs to be aware that over-the-day bookings for the many cruise ship guests disembarking nearby is a niche that needs to be addressed. In the end, we paid for two nights, although we were not even there for the first night and we checked out for our evening flight before we had a chance to stay for the second night.

For travelers beginning or ending a cruise in Rio, the hotel is just a 15-minute walk from the cruise ship dock: No need for a taxi. The restaurant buffet is excellent!

Room was a little drab (read “old and dated”) and had no comfortable seating other than the bed.

Very good buffet for dinner, and breakfast the day of departure (which was included). Dining service was excellent. We went to Rio to catch a cruise and the Guanabara was only 5 minutes from the port.

Why don’t they provide boiled eggs at breakfast?Some wheat bread? The lighting in the room could improve. Individual lamps for reading were not available.

The terrace was quite nice and the view very attractive. The barmen were friendly.

Area was a little scary even being in the Cento. Many homeless.

The surrounding streets are quite dangerous, many people are allowed to sleep on the streets and approaching you; we witnessed a young couple coming towards us asking about the nearest police station because they were robbed nearby church and left without their wallets and bags.

Comfortable room with nice wood furniture, restaurant and breakfast very good.
