When changing the temperature on the showers head we kept getting electric shocks from it.

Water was leaking from the ceiling into the bathroom making everything wet and dirty everyday even if the staff was cleaning. Toilet paper was missing almost everyday. Beds are very close to each other and not suited for tall people. Kitchen is missing a lot of equipement and making cooking a random experience

The dorm room beds are kinda trash. There's nothing separating you from the bed next to you so you may end up touching stranger's feets by accident during the night. It's super weird.

The outdoor area is fantastic (hammocks!), nice kitchen, lots of sitting, pool table, really good wifi

I was there for carnival and the atmosphere was so dead at this hostel. Was really hoping the the hostel would have more social activities or packages to get the most out of carnival. The staff was really distant and weren't easy to interact with. They didn't provide any help or suggestions when trying to figure out how to enjoy our time in Rio. Also don't depend on having AC even though Rio temps get really high.

Enjoyed the setup of the hostel! A lot of places to lounge, meet others and enjoy the beautiful hostel. Had a great kitchen and a cool terrace with views of El Cristo!

The hostel has the space and workers to do something social which could really improve the feel of the hostel. I felt it was a difficult place to meet people and I'm a pretty social guy. The room was really hot at night. There was a fan running continuously, but it was uncomfortably hot in the room at night. This property is a 10 visually and with a small investment from the owners and staff could easily be a 10 all around.

The property is actually quite beautiful and a long strip of land that continues to rise up the mountain. Most the rooms are at the top, so after you hike the long steps to reception, plan on hiking up even much further to get to your room. It's so large and spacious with lots of little private pockets to chill. The kitchen is mostly equipped and I cooked all my meals here.

There were some empty plastic bottles and empty candy boxes in the room, probably left over from previous guests. I also found cup and spilled sugar on my mattress (you make the bed yourself).

It was a great pleasure to stay in the hostel da Bruna. All the staff was super helpful and friendly, rooms were quiet and there is a great view from the terasse. Good location for somebody who likes to go out but also looks for a place to relax in between.

Got a bad electric shock from the shower head. Hostel messed up our stay and didn’t book the extra night we was told we could have. This meant our room was given to somebody else whilst all of our belongings were in it. The hostel did not contact us about this so we came back in the evening with no idea we had nowhere to stay and all of our belongings all bagged up and just left outside. when we came back to find this, the staff member on duty was very helpful and concerned however the problem could not be resolved as all other rooms had been booked out

The hostel is in an excellent part of Rio with easy access to the Metro for the city as a whole. The area is safe even at night and we never had any issues! The facilities are great and the staff are super friendly! Some people complain about the steps - they are not that bad. About six flights up which is tough with your bags in the heat, but no reason not to book this amazing hostel! Remember this is a hostel, if you are looking for luxury there are plenty of overpriced hotels in Copacabana! Say hello to the Macau!

I'm sorry, but I didn't enjoy my stay. - The women at the desk couldn't give me any informations (metro, botanical garden...) - At night someone from another room came inside, went to the toilet and left. How something like this can happen!!! And it could be everyone, because there is no door to get into the Hostel!! - The man at the desk at night was very nice. But he sayed he will be there all night long. But when I left at 5 in the morning nobody was there! - You have to pay extra for the warm blanket!

The room where I stayed was too big and some beds didn't have a plug (but I changed beds without any problem) and even tho the lockers had a fair size, they were on the floor and had to drag my bag into them so my stuff got a bit dirty.

There were a really big kitchen and place to eat, a sink to wash the clothes and to dry them in the sun, a big roof to chill and a bar inside the hostel. There's was a really good atmosphere and the stuff were really nice.
