This hotel is showing it's age. The chairs in the rooms are completely stained and just look dirty. The a/c thermostat controls in both rooms I stayed in did not work. They just stayed on and the rooms got too cold, no way to control the temperature. That's an easy fix. They need to get better linens and ones that tuck under the mattress. The sheets just pull away when you move and you end up with the bare mattress. There were some cleaning issues, but they were uickly resolved and having white tile in the bathrooms isn't making the cleaning ladies life any easier. You see every little hair and if the floor is wet at all, you will leave black marks from the dirt on your shoe soles if you walk in a drop of water. The biggest disappointment for me was that the hotel restaurant Pleno Bistro has closed indefinitely. I don't know if you can give a hotel a 4 star rating if there is no restaurant, no room service...nada. I have stayed in this hotel for years, this was a 2 week stay this time. The restaurant was really good and the prices were reasonable. I miss the staff at Pleno, they were so great. BH Plaza really needs to get another restaurant in there, I think they will lose business without a house restaurant. It is still a great value and a very comfortable hotel.

The staff are great! They do their best to help in any circumstance, some speak English as well. The beds are very comfortable and they do have true KING sized beds. The view was great from the 19th floor, it was beautiful with city and mountain views. The view of the cathedral was amazing too! #1904 is the best! The a/c control didn't seem to work though, it just had one setting....extra cold. Better than being hot. Having the mini-mart with food/drinks and all kinds of snacks in the lobby area is awesome. It's ok if you're using dollars, pretty expensive if you're spending reais. But great in a pinch. Breakfast is pretty good, but they need to rotate more options and variety. Too much bread and cakes, I am on a very low carb diet and this made if tough. But, pretty good either way. The location is SUPERB with so many restaurants and bars within 1-2 blocks away. Don't miss Cantina do Lucas at Meletta and if you like burgers, go to Godó - Pizza e Burguer!! I am a gringo and I freaking loved their burgers! It's 1 block away. Stay here, it's a great spot.....

Breakfast was OK, but a bit too "standard". It is also difficult to get prepared beverages, like juices, not loaded with sugar, as this suits the Brazilian taste.

The staff was very pleasant, the room was large, comfortable. The hotel has washing machines, with dryer functionality, very useful after a long trip.

The shower head needs to be clean it was side splashing water. The position of the AC blows air direct to the bed which makes us feel cold and dry that we had to turn it off in the middle of the night, and to turn it back on in the morning to cool the room.

The wifi was poor. The elevator was very slow. The lights in the hallways were motion activated so it seemed quite dark. Refrigerators weren’t stocked.

The fact that there are no porters, only 2 front desk attendants, no one to help you with your luggage, and considering that I had 3 large ones and a carry-on, I was in desperate need of help. Also, It is still cleaner than most, but you can see that the shower needs to be upgraded. The breakfast starts at 6:30 am but the first bus to the airport leaves at 6:00 am so, you won't get any that morning. That should be taken into consideration by the hotel. All in all, it is still a very good place to stay.

The location is unbeatable. Close to all major areas and just around the corner of the bus stop that takes you to and from the airport. It is still quite a comfortable place, although the clientele has changed quite a bit, if you know what I mean. I've been staying there for the past 20 years, and it's maintained its shape quite well, all things considered.

Staff not friendly or pro-active at all. At the entrance hall of the hotel, there are like 5-6 steps. I had two big suitcases with me and a backpack. There were 2 employees at the entrance hall and no other guests at the moment. Staff did not offer to help with the luggage or to operate the small cargo/wheel chair elevator they have. I didn't see the cargo elevator when I arrived, so the staff just watched me struggling with the luggage and the steps. At the check-out I had to ask them to turn on the elevator. While I was waiting for my Uber I saw the same happening to other guests. They never offer help and looks like they don't want to operate the elevator as well. My room was very noisy. There are dogs in the neighborhood barking day and night! I woke up in the night several times with the noise.

Spacious room, comfortable bed, good breakfast, good location, close to malls, pharmacy, restaurants, bakery, bars and access to direct transportation to the airport (conexão aeroporto is and executive bus, very safe, comfortable and with an affordable price).

Breakfast is from 6h30 to 10h30 on weekends but at 9h30 there was barely something left.. The next day I went at 7h30 and it was very good!

When I asked for an extra blanket the guy wasn't ready to help. I had to insist to get it. I had an extra kid and brought a travel mattress once the hotel couldn't make arrangements on my reservation which I was fine with and was able to sort things out. The pool is inside but not heated, we couldn't use it.

I like the breakfast, location and the beds. The blinds were awesome, completely dark as I like to sleep.

Poor Breakfast, lack of cold and hot options, no yogurt, no hot Brazilian potatoes, no caucus, no fruit salad, and small sitting area, which does not accommodate all customers comfortably and in time due. Swimming pool a joke, more like a hot tub, but cold. External garden not comfortable.

Nice comfortable room in good size with comfortable bed. Great location for walking the city center and surrounding bairros (Liberdade and Savassi and Mercado Central), very next to the Airport Shuttle Bus (Conexão Aeroporto).
