Very nice breakfast and off hour access to coffee/tea and light snacks. Pleasant setting outside of the village in the countryside yet close to the village. Traditional farm manor house with nicely landscaped gardens. Large play area for children. Quiet. Room sparse but efficient and comfortable.

The water boiler broke down during the night so we didn’t have warm water but in the morning during breakfast the owners have proactively informed us about the problem they had and gave us partial refund from the price. This is very nice and professional management of an unforeseeable issue. No hard feelings at all.

It is a perfect location for transit to the vest of Europe. The location is an old farm completely renovated. A visit to Linz is recommended, especially for dinner. It is very easy to reach and relatively close.

The mattresses - some complained about the comfort. In our apartment, there was a small kitchenette.. but there were almost no useful cups and plates. Also, there was no shampoo - just body lotion and shampoo in one - which caused me to have to go off shopping in a panic. And then the body soap dispenser in the shower was broken. If you are on holiday, you don't want to have to worry about these little things.

Nothing, it was all excellent!

Breakfast was well laid out, and with plenty of variety. We were asked how we would like our eggs which was a nice touch. There was a good choice of hot and cold drinks. Staff were helpful, friendly and smiley. The room was amazing, with a separate kitchen and seating area, separate shower room, whilst up stairs was a huge bedroom, though actually quite cosy. There was also a fridge stocked with wine, beer and soft drinks which you paid for on departure. Location was quiet with plenty of parking and within very easy reach of Ansfelden (for Bruckner lovers) and the monastery at St Florian - again for those who love Bruckner!

A firmer pillow rather than the soft cushions would have suited me personally, but that was the only thing to note.

Hertzog Zu Laah is located in a large farmhouse, which is part guesthouse, part family home and part farm. Set amongst fields of arable crops just outside of the town of Ansfelden near Linz. It is both peaceful and beautiful. Magdelania the hostess was very welcoming and spoke great English. Our room had a small kitchen range in it to allow some basic cooking if you wished. We arrived mid heatwave and the room was warm, but a large fan helped to cool the room sufficiently. Breakfast was served in the upstairs dining room. All the food was fresh every day and eggs were cooked to order by Magdelania. The garden at the front of the property, as well as the courtyard were available for guests to enjoy. We had a very nice stay here.
