Have stayed before - and again found it to be so convenient just off M6 and way better than any other motorway hotel. Just as the Tebay/Westmorland Service stations are in a league apart from all other service stations so is the Westmorland hotel a league apart from your Days Inns! It’s all stone and tweed and log fires. Warm and friendly staff and delicious homemade food.
Crooklands
The meals we had--breakfast and dinner--were excellent. We went for the annual Westmorland Show but the hotel is very handy for Kendal, The Lakes, Westmorland Fells, and Yorkshire Dales. Also near the M6 but a good mile away--certainly no noise. Our twin room was excellent. The fraternal owners are working very hard indeed.

Everything was perfect for the most part
Perfect location across the road from the head of the lake! Good size room, comfortable bed, good shower--all a traveler's needs are met with good quality furnishings, bed linens, towels. Restaurant had excellent soups. Breakfast was tasty with an avocado/egg/toast.
Spotless friendly service and beautiful location
Very cosy room (303) even had a little balcony. Breaky was delicious with plenty of self serve items and the a cooked breakfast of your choice. Restaurant food was pretty good as well. Fabulous lounge area with so many chesterfield lounges. Beautiful village

The location is OK. A little far from the center. But for a walk it's perfect. I recommend it with confidence.
The food was amazing, the hotel itself had beautiful facilities, we particularly liked the lounge and we loved the spa. I liked the art work and the little wall decals were cute and funny. The staff were impeccable very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
