The location was just perfect. It was central for us to adventure out and explore the Lake District. It was also an exciting location for relaxation in the evenings. Lots of fine restaurants and pubs to choose from with a lovely holiday atmosphere abounding everywhere.
Regretfully the car ferry was out of order and not available to us. That was a bit of a nuisance as our touring plans had envisaged that being available. None the less we had a fabulous holiday and were not overly put-out by the loss.

It is so easy going in Bowness we try to come here as often as we can. There’s something to do for everyone young and old. We have a dog now and he’s so relaxed here many places are dog friendly. Bars and restaurants brilliant especially Italians on the Main Street. Our favourite place can’t wait to come back

I liked the Beatrix Potter museum, Holehird Gardens, and Stagshaw gardens, Hayes garden centre up in Ambleside. Booked an amazing day trip with Mountain Goat tours that took us around ten Lakes of the Lake District with our amazing guide Mark Shipley. the restaurants I went to was Francine's up in Windermere, Urban Food House (superb) and the Magic Roundabout. I was within walking distance of everything in Bowness. I probably would avoid booking in the school holidays, was very busy everywhere. the weather was very changeable but it is the wettest area of Great Britain.

Visiting Bowness in November was a great idea.
Visiting Bowness in November was a great idea. I have been in the summer before and it is so busy it is unpleasant and parking is difficult. I would advise visitors to choose a hotel with private parking - preferably free, some charge for parking - leave a car there and walk to town or to the lakeside. Also be aware that Bowness is built on a steep hill and not all roads have pavements.

All three rooms were excellent in size and space, and two of the rooms had a lovely balcony. The staff were friendly and approachable. The restaurant at Burn How is excellent with good variety of breakfast options. The location is superb and within easy reach of town centre as well as the lake. The free parking was just outside the front door of each room and there are two separate entrances to the hotel. There is a lovely garden at the back which allows for a gentle stroll and sitting down with a drink.
This is an exceptional bed and breakfast hotel in the heart of Bowness. Close to all the pubs, restaurants, shops and the lakeside, though up a short steep hill!! The bedroom (room 4) was very spacious and clean with a superb bath and shower. Nick the host also provides a few welcome added touches such as homemade cakes, bottles of water and fresh milk. There was a choice of cooked full English or Vegetarian breakfasts, plus bread, cereals and yoghurts.
Rooms were clean and spacious. Little extras in the room were nice. Got a lake and mountain view without paying for a room that offered the views which was a bonus. Staff were warm and welcoming. Very impressed with the stay. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of options and the food was lovely. 2 minute walk to the centre of town. Nice and quiet on a night. Didn't hear much noise from other guests rooms. Will definitely be staying here again.
The cottage was spacious with plenty of seating in the lounge & dining area, especially if there were 10 guests staying. The kitchen was well equipped, and the hot tub was lovely to use anytime of day.
The TV could be linked to Amazon/Netflicks and wi-fi enabled streaming.
The grounds were very pleasant.
The location was central to the Lake District, and 15-20 min walk into Bowness. However, it's a long uphill walk back.
Stayed here yesterday (20/05/21) owners were lovely and friendly on arrival and when leaving. The bedroom was spacious and bed comfortable. The room and en suite we’re spotlessly clean. This was a 5-10 min walk from Bowness on Windermere shops, bars and restaurants so was very handy. Would recommend and Bowness is beautiful. This was room only but we knew that and the owner provided snacks, drinks etc which was great.
Kidsty pike is a beautiful apartment as it had all the mod cons you expect in an apartment and we would definitely go back. It has the town centre of bowness on windermere right on the door step. It's was lovely and clean and to be honest I can't fault this apartment in any way as its beautiful like I siad. It is a little bit hard to find but once we found the apartment, car park there to park your car. 😊
Lake View guesthouse was such a lovely stay. The room was lovely and spacious, it was clean and in a brilliant off-central location to Bowness. The owner Peter was absolutely brilliant and made the stay all the better. Breakfast was delicious as well! Absolutely lovely place to stay :)
The hotel location and quality of service was excellent. We asked for a view of Lake Windermere from our bedroom, and the view was stunning. The only fault with our stay was that the spa, which was part of the reason we booked this hotel, was unavailable or fully booked.
Hotel has good location - breakfast wasnt available in price, but there are plenty of nice places to get your breakfast within seconds of the property. The rooms are clean and ideal for an overnight stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful if required.
The guest house was superb. Spotlessly clean, lovely genuine friendly hosts, perfect full English Cumberland breakfast every day. Centrally located, ideal for short walk into Bowness on Windermere or Windermere itself. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic location and views from hotel terrace, very clean and staff very helpful.
Decor lovely, although bit blingy in parts. Had an upgrade to a hot tub room as spa was out of action but knew this before we went.
Would return.
the room was clean and tidy the hostess was really helpful and friendly and the breakfast is the best I’ve had while staying in Bowness-On-Windermere and I have stayed in the burnside, Ro and MacDonald hotels
Beautiful hotel in a prime location, lovely interior, very helpful, friendly staff, food was absolutely gorgeous, will definitely recommend The Belsfield Hotel and we will definitely book to stay again.
Excellent hotel, room, facilities and food was exceptional. Easy ten minute walk to local shopping, drinking and eating. Really friendly staff, a real asset.
