A very special location with very few hotels to choose from, but Laurel Inn delivers in all aspects despite the lack of competition! Its got a mixed vibe between a boutique hotel and comfy roadside motel. The rooms are spacious (both the bathroom and sleeping area), the beds are cozy, the staff are all friendly and helpful.

The staff was so kind, they took special measures because of Covid during breakfast (you chose what you want from a list and they would get it for you, convenient breakfast option: coffee, yogurt, bread jelly butter, eggs, clementines, oatmeal, etc), one day we needed a scissor to cut a foot insole and they provided it. There is a small liquor/market store and pizza by slice business next door. Location is wonderful if you are looking to stay near presidio, palace of fine arts, crissy fields; we even walked to Japanese town. You can also take a muni bus or the golden gate transit bus just two blocks from there. I would definitely stay there next time.

I am honestly afraid of recommending it, because I would like to keep it a secret :D Our room had a fully equipped kitchen, our car was safely parked in a (FREE!) garage and we could explore the area and most sights by foot. The interior design is adorable and the courtyard is so pretty with the paintings and the flowers. We loved everything about it.

Really excellent front desk service! Loved the location right in the heart of Japantown, very easy to walk to all the shops and restaurants. Street outside our window was quiet at night (no traffic noise or crowds) and room was very spacious and comfortable.
