This flat is a 2 bedroom flat with a kitchen. There is no lounge in order to maximize guests. However, there is a table and chairs. The appliances etc., are available except I didn’t see a toaster and there isn’t a TV. It is located in a quiet building down one level from the street. It was a great base to work from. Although there is no private parking, there was some available on the street either quite near or just up the road. This part of Coimbra, along with the university around the corner, is very hilly like most of the towns in the area. The host, Marcelo, is very friendly and offers some good advice. The WiFi is great and it was comfortable and fit for purpose. I felt safe in the area as a single traveler.

Susana was an amazing host, and little Arya too! They both warmly welcomed us with a wide smile, alongside some cute gifts, a cool Praxis beer and many treats for our dog... and a puppy bed that served as a soft pillow. It's not easy to find amazing stays that are truly pet-friendly as well. Location-wise, it's walking distance from Coimbra's downtown though it might still be better to use a car since it's a bit of a climb. There's a supermarket, a few cafés, and most points-of-interest south-west of the river close-by. The room has it own entrance and a small patio, which is convenient (Susana lived upstairs), and it was very cozy and well decorated. While it does not have a kitchenet per-se, it actually felt more like an apartment, and would be great for shorter stays or those looking to eat out more often (the city has tons of great restaurants). The microwave and coffee-maker should fulfill most needs.
