Overall, exceeded my expectations in this rather remote/resource limited (to a city person at least) location.

Part of a larger house, Frankie & Hugh's is a renovated, self-contained apartment situated in Ohakune, just a 20-minute drive from the Turoa ski field on Mount Ruapehu. A beautiful mountain stream runs through the B&B gardens, and you can often hear the calls of native birds Frankie and Hugh's felt like home away from home. Marlene and Wayne were great host and made every effort to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We found the property clean, spacious and well maintained. The breakfast was good and we very much enjoyed our stay at the property.

Featuring spectacular Mount Ruapehu and Mangawhero River views, The River Lodge Ohakune is situated about 8 km from Ohakune town centre. It is a 35-minute drive to the chairlifts at Turoa Ski Area. We were very impressed with everything Daniel & River Lodge had to offer. The room was beautiful, had all the facilities we required, great shower, stunning view of the mountain. Breakfast was exceptional, much more than we had expected.
