A beautiful mountain stream runs through the B&B gardens, and you can often hear the calls of native birds Very well appointed cottage with all the mod cons. Great value for money.

Ranfurly Cottage is located in the historic township of Raetihi. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with a patio and a private bathroom with free toiletries. You can enjoy garden view from the room. Excellent hosts, good beds. Plenty of space to relax. The host went out of their way to give me a gluten free breakfast.

My partner and I stayed at the River Lodge during our Christmas/ summer holiday and it was EXCEPTIONAL. Cleanest room we have ever stayed in. The hosts are fantastic, great vibes all round! The included breakfast was delicious and we had all the amenities we needed. Well worth the price and experience away from a chain hotel. The setting is so green, relaxing and warm. We slept so well as it was so quiet. Highly recommend you stay here if you are planning to hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing - Dani can organise a direct shuttle to/from the track for you.

Excellent. Felt completely at home. Very helpful advice for activities in the area. Engaging but discreet hosts. Room spacious, lovely bathroom and bed comfortable. Breakfast was terrific with good options.

This was excellent for the cost. It is a 'backpacker' type accomodation but was clean, cosy, everythinng worked well, staff were very helpful. If you are on a budget you will be very pleased, if you just like to save you will be very happy here. If you want luxury look elsewhere. But clean comfortable quiet handy, this is great. We are mid 60's and could easily pay more but like to save and we liked it and would stay here again.

We had a room for 3 with our own bathroom. The beds were super comfortable. It was also surprisingly quiet there. Great location. Enough space in the fridges for everyone. Great place.
great hostel, great affordable options for a private room, 20 mins from the Tongariro Crossing which is why I was staying. It had great facilities, plenty of bathrooms, a clean hot shower and the kitchen was well stocked and not too busy which I really appreciate in a hostel.
The double bedroom on the ground floor was extremely quiet and very private.
Room was clean, location feels private and mostly quiet, short drive to National Park, shower was nice. Appreciate the Dryer Room (instead of just a dryer), handy to dry all of our snow gears at once.
Fantastic location and host. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the house was beautiful and warm and the views of the mountain fantastic. Looking at the mountain from the spa was a highlight. Daniel was a great host and does an excellent breakfast. We loved this place!

Although attached to the main house, Gables B&B is incredibly private. It's also quiet and peaceful and a well-located base from which to explore the Ruapehu region. The host is very generous with breakfast provisions and snacks, including fresh fruit and free range eggs each day. The kitchen is small but well equipped, the bed comfortable - and the bathroom is serviced daily.
