Norem, Esteban and Valeria made us feel at home right away and went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast and dinner (with the hummingbirds around) were delicious, prepared to the point and with several dishes to choose from. The cabins are all new, very well designed and furnished, the bathroom with steady and immediate hot and cold water supply. A garden with a small trail are in the making and will make spending time in the crisp and clean mountain air even more worthwhile. We can highly recommend Curuba Lodge which became our favorite place in Costa Rica! Tip: Esteban can connect you with a few guides to see the rare and iconic Quetzal birds.

Staff on-site can arrange a shuttle service. Perfect little hut. A bit cold at night but there are sufficient warm blankets. We saw several Quetzals nearby. Highly recommended.

Even from the shower you can enjoy this nice view. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Good breakfast and dinner from local produce are served in a close-by local restaurant with very professional and friendly staff. We saw the quetzal bird (the main reason why we stayed here) on an early morning tour which was a nice experience.
