Cottage was great. Cosy, lovely decorated and really well equipped. Three double bedrooms great for our family. Located in the lovely village of Wark with a couple of pubs and lovely Riverside walks. Great location for exploring the surrounding area, from lovely coastal towns to National trust houses and castles. We had a fantastic stay. Highly recommended.

We have stayed in Battlesteads before and we were not disappointed this time. Our lodge was very comfortable everything was great. Jacuzzi bath, super king size bed, large TV, good selection of complementary refreshments and a fridge for that all important bottle of wine. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were excellent and staff were very friendly and attentive. Car parking was more than adequate.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel itself is beautifully presented with a conservatory overlooking a walled garden. The solar panel in the car park and Dark Skies observatory are all testament to the hotel’s environmental and sustainability ethos which is apparent in all aspects of the stay. The food was excellent and the staff welcoming and helpful.
