Cottage was great. Cosy, lovely decorated and really well equipped. Three double bedrooms great for our family. Located in the lovely village of Wark with a couple of pubs and lovely Riverside walks. Great location for exploring the surrounding area, from lovely coastal towns to National trust houses and castles. We had a fantastic stay. Highly recommended.

We stayed in a lodge room. It was spacious, beautiful, had lots of extra little touches and a gorgeous bathroom! The restaurant and food were lovely, and although we didn't use the bar this time, I will definitely be back!

Battlesteads is a hotel with a cosy pub and restaurant. The building is old. The rooms are very clean and comfortable but don't expect sleek and refined. The food in the restaurant is very good. They use a lot of local produce. All is cooked from scratch. The Pub area is really cosy. There is a determined and sustained commitment to being an environmentally friendly hotel. We have stayed many times and will return.

Comfortable bed and room, cosy bar, good range of well prepared meals, choice of six real beers, fresh fruit and good quality tea and biscuits in room, friendly staff, very environmentally aware hotel management ( which is of high importance to us). Beautiful garden. Printed maps of suggested walks from the property.

It was a cosy country hotel with good food and nice bar/restaurant. We had Sunday Lunch which was very nice. We had booked 3 rooms, one being the luxury lodge room which was lovely. Some of staff were very good and friendly. The Observatory session was excellent!
